DC- Champ

Whittaker- Champ

Kelvin- Title challenger

Poirier- Top 5 LW

RDA- #3 Contender. If Colby beats Woodley RDA could be the 2nd best WW.

Hooker- not good at 145, 4 in row over 4 good names all finishes at 155.

Lineker- Top 5 125er, still top 5 at 135.

Masvidal- Couldnt crack the top 10 at 155, cracked top 5 at WW.

Cowboy- Got into the top 5 at WW after being a 155 title challenger. Tbh tho I don't think he beats anyone in the top 10 at LW anymore. At any weight class I think he is just looking old. 30 fights in 7 years will do that lol.

There are probably a couple I'm missing but I think there is a lot of evidence here to suggest weight-cutting. Fighters who I would like to see move up a weight class:

-Holloway, Khabib(eventually), Romero, Rockhold, Weidman, Darren Till, Thiago Santos, Gilbert Burns, Uriah Hall(nearly died making 185 in January, better chin, speed stays, Sam Alvey is top 15 for goodness sake!) James Vick.

"Rumble" Johnson is up there.

He went through extremes to make 170lbs.

Some guys just don't have the technique to overcome their T-Rex arms.

You forgot Conor who was looking like skelator before he moved up and won his belt.

But he's retired.

Highly agree, was just thinking about how Amanda Nunes would probably dyke smash Cyborg at 145 with less of a weight cut

Frankie Edgar- LW champ, arguably beat Henderson 2x
FW- KO'd by grappler

Great call. Forgot about him since he retired but he is a great example. I still think he had a great chance at beating Jones at UFC 187 if that wouldve happened.

Yup. All of those are perfect examples and hopefully other fighters will learn from them.

I feel like it's inevitable, and it's picking up momentum, but I wish more fighters would abandon the insane weight cuts.

Darren Till, for example, would be a fucking monster at MW. His speed and striking would be a nightmare for the top ten. Yet he kills himself to get to WW.
