Fighters that lost the Public’s support.

Shit's so stupid. It just shows how deeply tied all of these "MMA" fans are to the UFC without even realizing it.
And this is why the Fertitta's have stated in the past that they would've never invested in MMA had the UFC brand not been available at the time.

I like Publix.
Getting staples there like egg and milk is costly but the selection is great.
Always running bogos on thick cut bacon. I told my wife that I need to raise my cholesterol.

Ronda Rousey post Strikeforce.
Travis Fulton, probably.
Did he ever really have that much support though? he was always just a bum who fought alot. People basically knew his amount of fights and nothing about him,and didnt see any of his fights besides the one where he broke that karate guy.

It was never so much the "oh my god i can't wait to see him" support but more the Dan Severn "look at how many wins this mofo has. how badass!" type support i believe.

Severn at least was something at some point haha

True, Severn was a good fighter for one and he was known for not only 1 but 5 things:

1. Not being able to finish fights
2. Moustache
3. Being surprisingly savage every once in a while
4. Moustache
5. Lots and lots of fights

I like that he talked about having a moral issue with hitting the guys after he took them down. Not because people should...this is antiethical to fighting...but to let people know, that its something that can happen.

He also got this weird manner of speech that you wouldnt think a wrestler with a tremendous mustache like that would have. I like him anyway!

I used to think he was bullshitting and making excuses when he talked about that, but then i went back and rewatched UFC 4 and 5 and it turns out he legit didn't even attempt a single strike in UFC 4 while in UFC 5 he immediately started kneeing, elbowing and hitting opponents like crazy as soon as he took them down. Too bad his GnP never had much impact anyway, lol

I feel like that might have hurt his promos a bit. He looks like an uber-macho and then he starts speaking with that super soft and kind of nasal voice and weird accent and suddenly he doesn't seem so scary anymore.

It def takes some getting used to. Now it makes him kind of endearing.

UFC 4 was the first UFC that I ever saw,and boy that main event left me confused as shit hahahah. Like i thought it was cool that you could submit someone like that, but Severen never hurt Royce when he clearly could, and when caught in the choke,he didnt really fight hard to get out. So I kept wanting to watch Rutten and Belfort instead lmao

Matt Hughes lost a lot of fans after it was discovered the things he did in the past in his book. One of my mates trained with him at Finney's for a few months back in the day and said he was an ass.

Yeah, I know most of the times is just different groups with opposing views getting more vocal as the subject swings to their favor. But with Ngannou the hate was so excessive that it really felt the people were turning on him.

Some were not all hate but like an envy for him getting the deal after all so they would be like "yeah, PFL sucks anyway", "there's no one for him to fight" and so on. Kind of cheering for the deal to fail. Weird.

You are probably right.

You should post this in the egg thread

There’s still at least 1 nut hugger left around here for him… not naming any names…

the thing is though, none of this reconciles with reality. Only to a bunch of internet dorks creating their own false narratives to I guess brighten up their never touched grass incel existences.

Hes the highest paid guy in the company (bar Connor), has fans lining up to see him, his latest performance was universally praised by the mma world - heck even Jon Jones has buried the beef.

The UFC simply would not pay him what they pay him if he wasn't popular.

But to the shertards..... the thing is you do have very accurate opinions - provided you take the polar opposite

And the last nuthugger reveals himself. Lol Well played, Dorkman.

It’s truth. Outside of the vacuum of sherdog Adesanya is still extremely popular and his fights get high attention from casual fans. Sherdog tends to not like certain fighters and pretend theirstar is gone even when completely false
