The comparison between humans and animals is shallow and short-sighted.

I might change my mind if an animal conducts researches and experiments (because it suddenly got the urge and curiosity to wonder about such things) with animal-made tools and comes online to present its' thesis though.
Humans are animals.
I think conducting experiments and writing a thesis would require brain growth/development/evolution, not merely getting the “sudden urge” to wonder about such things.
Also thumbs. They’re gonna need thumbs.

Willing to do so has it's place as well though. Thought, fantasy etc. All of them have their place into it.

If they're equal to humans they can find a way to create thumbs (or work around that problem).

Edit: I forgot monkeys etc. Should I wait for a post from them and see what they think about my point of view? (rhetorical question)

I agree on the first point.
The 2nd point might get way too philosophical for my brain on a Saturday morning, lol. (What do we mean by “equal,” is being able to write a thesis a fair metric to judge superiority, etc).

I think the monkeys are working on Shakespeare at the moment, but they’ll probably get around to shitposting on Sherdog eventually :)

It is too much. Starting to think about anything about the human race, from thoughts to creations is always tiring and too much really. I could google and start reading about how a simple calculator is being made but it'd be too much and get tired/bored of it (one of the reasons though would be that, I'm simply not interested on that speciffic thing right now).

By "equal" I meant in complexity. Most of the things we do are pretty much alien to animals. Have you ever played a video game while a pet watches? Doing something simple and time-wasting and animals look as if you're operating a flying saucer (they don't know what a flying saucer is but..you get my drift).

Anywho, I'm probably getting tiring.

I think if you were referencing complexity, that’s fair. As far as what that means, that’s a rabbit hole in and of itself. It’s like that old Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy thing about humans and dolphins:
“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”

are there ppl in this thread who are actually claiming humans are not animals? i mean, come on, son. by definition we are animals.

i had arguments with ppl who said mushrooms were plants and i thought they were dumb. this, i duno, guess id have to think about.
