An example was Silva vs Bisping. If Bisping had a translator, he would know that Silva is paranoid about his leg and Bisping can start throwing leg kicks.

Or even a normal situation, you might hear the coach call for a takedown or something and you would be prepared for it.

So if you know you're going to fight a Brazilian, don't you think it's a good idea to have a Portuguese speaker on your corner? Or a French fighter and have a French speaker on your corner? Or whatever language and have a translator of that language in your corner just so you can hear their plans?

and how would that even work? when would the translator find out this information to pass to the fighters?

Can corner man use phones or radios? If so, they can have a brazilian friend translating stuff. It won't always be useful because of the delay, but in case of potential injuries it could work.

this is even sillier than the OP lol

When they're yelling at cage side. That's why Jackson and Winkle use code names for their techniques. So when the opponent's coach calls or yells out for say a "TAKEDOWN NOW, DOUBLE LEG"
The translator should be able to hear it and yell out "Watch for that double, he going for takedown" etc..

OP gave the idea, I'm exploring the possibilities. I don't like to rule stuff out without considering.

Breaks between rounds often have a lot of information that could be valuable to the other guy. Even with the delay, I wouldn't pass on a chance to know if my opponent is feeling pain on a knee or got frustrated by something I did.

so if a brazillian translator works against Jackson/Wink fighters their translations will probably get them fired. "watch out for Travis Browne" etc

see how it wont work? also when would the translator pass this information to the coaches? they surely should be focusing on their fighter and how they can improve, instead of worrying about what the other corner are shouting

also I imagine that even a brazillian understands the english word for "takedown" lol

It's not going to work on Jackson/wink cuz they use code. But if say you're fighting a Spanish fighter then they are not going to use codes cuz they know you won't understand them anyways. They will just call out the move in Spanish. So if you have a Spanish translator then they can say, "hey they just called for a takedown" etc.

You usually have multiple people shouting things. The coach can yell for things to do and the translator can yell out important things the enemy is doing.

I forgot who, but one time a fighter was eavesdropping on the opponent's coach and was prepared for whatever his opponent was doing. If it doesn't work then Jackson/wink wouldn't be usin codes.

LOL. I love it. How about the translators being midgets and the fighters have to wear them in backpacks during the fight?

or.... heres a thought...... they could just try and fight and not waste their money on translators
