So Phil Davis has now chimed in with his opinion that echos that of Conor McGregor. They both think that fighters aren't paid to promote but are they? If in a contract it is stated that the fighter does have to promote then isn't the pay the contract also states contingent upon the promotion? So isn't part of the pay to promote? I think it is part of what a fighter is paid for. I think this is why fighters get more money in main events and co-mains. Obviously when you are paying McGregor an unprecedented $10 million guaranteed, win or lose, you expect him to use his best skill (promoting) to help make that money justifiable. So, yeah I not only think a fighter is paid to promote but I also think it's in their best interests. If these fighters can get more exposure then they can get more value... just look at Conor.
