He's a sexy guy but his striking is not very complete. His volume and kicks are good, but he doesn't throw punches with any mean intent and his boxing is just poor. Solid body kicks but awful punching technique.

I hate him. I've said that last week and i'll say it again. Whoever starches him first will be my new favorite fighter. Fucking point fighter, dude performs like a ballerino over there.

He has skill, which makes it even more infuriating. It’s like watching Kajan Johnson fight. The kid was skilled, but he was literally one of the most boring POINT fighters ever.

This sport did not come into existence for point fighters. They’re just gaming the system, but this was meant to be for fucking fighters. Go for it, try to finish a fight. Get finished even, who cares, just put on a fucking exciting fight.

Elias never delivers in that aspect. Maybe not saying he shouldn’t fight MMA, but he shouldn’t be in the UFC. The UFC should ONLY keep fighters if they are exciting. I’ve accepted that they don’t keep the best fighters (Fitch when he was released, Moose, Rory etc), but they should at least get rid of the very boring ones.

What bothers me the most about this situation is thinking about how many "boring" fighters were cut for a single loss when a guy like him who doesn't want to fight at all is still on the roster.

At least guys like Davis, Bader, Rashid, Shields, etc. have a solid background on one discipline.
This guy is below average in every aspect of the game. He only wins because of his boring style.

I agree. He had Elias hurt in the 2nd, but had no energy, no footwork, no idea what to do in the clinch, basically nothing but a jackhammer left hand.

Elias is a point fighter, but he’s an actual MMA athlete, whereas Anders is a poor man’s Leben.

Tristar and Greg Jackson have neutered fighters.
GSP became probably the goat boring fighter, Guida was awesome until Jackson. Condit also has that lame fight against Diaz and was never the same since.

I don’t think point fighting is good for the long run. It keeps you in the cage longer and drains the fun out of the fight.
