Are mma fighter required to take a bath before going to fight?

Or are they allowed to put on deodorants?

Because grappling with someone which smell aweful can cause irritation and bacteria that migrates from to body to body, it may cause infections like staph.

Rumor has said that Matt Lindland has problem with his Hygiene while fighting.

I bet they shower before getting to the arena and then they shower after they fight. But some people just seem to stink more than others no matter how clean they are. I know a guy who never uses deodorant and never smells and I know a guy who will stink if he stands up too fast. The human body is weird and gross.

And naughty words? They can whisper naughty words to each other when they are on top position?

It's a legit question TS. They should have mandatory showers, and officials should observe the shower to make sure they clean themselves properly, and I'll volunteer to do it ... in the name of hygiene.

Tate talked about how badly Rousey smells. Maybe that's partly why she dominated the grappling exchanges.

They warm up anyway before the fight so they get sweat anyway. I trained a lot and i used different antiperspirants in my trainings, the best one to destroy bad smell were Nivea with silver in gel.

This one or Nivea Men stress protect. I train with my buddies a lot and they are not scared to say that someone stink. I also heard that i smell good even in training. Rly they work miracles. I dont use any other than those two ( silver and stress protect ). Do you have something like this in US? (real question)

If I was losing a title fight in the UFC and I gained top position, I would secure the mental advantage by assuming the fruity dude from family guy's voice and say shit like "mgon gitcha. watch owt mgon gitcha little arm there. tayptayp."

Ask any of this guys opponents:

EDIT:
Actually there is no rule about personel hygene. The only thing they check is your fingernails and toenails, to make sure you don't scratch people.

Like the above poster stated Matt Lindland would not shower, shave, or brush his teeth a week before the fight. It has been said that he can be smelt from across the cage before a fight. Leben said its absolutely disgusting.

i just rub a raw chicken all over my body beforehand. no one's complained about the smell, and pinkeye's funny.

I remember they had to cut Maldonado's toe nails before some fight. I really have never understood people who don't cut their nails, so I see them as less than.

I heard Ronda smells like fucked assholes.

Not fighter bashing, it's what I heard.

there is a fighter who used to do this on purpose. forget who told the story, but he would get rank as possible before the fight.

Kinda off topic, but that reminds me of when Bisping and Chael were to face off for the first time. Bisping was all tough, touching foreheads, while Chael simply said "wow, you smell good".

Hahaha. Priceless.

I know which fighters have a hygiene issue.

However, I cannot go into it because I might get the hammer. But you do the math and you can tell which fighters stink. Hahahaha
