Who are some fighters who aren't considered to be great generally speaking, but have one weapon or dimension that is among the best in their division?

Most don't find Travis Browne overly impressive, although he is ranked top 10, but he has some of the most destructive elbows at HW and in MMA as a whole.

KJ Noons has some very good boxing considering he is a pro boxer and what he was able to do to Nick Diaz, but doesn't have enough in the rest of his game to climb highly in any division.

Germaine De Randamie is a kickboxing legend, but being even more allergic to grappling than Conor or Holly has never breached the top 10 of women's BW.

Who are some other 'single beastly weapon/area' fighters?

Jon Jones is the master of eye pokes and Lindland's b.o. is legendary.

They say that that Aldo guy has decent leg kicks.

Gonzaga of course has the best BJJ in the HW division after the champ but decides to slug it out every time.

Dating myself a bit, but Mike Pyle seems to have a good all around skill set, and is particularly strong in grappling; Jason McDonald was great on the ground; Dustin Hazelett was another great grappler...

Mark Hunt. I know he flirts with the top of the division now and then because HW is HW, and it doesn't take much to be in title contention, but his career record is unimpressive and fits the bill.

That fight with Werdum was actually looking really dangerous for the champ until that fake takedown knee, as a btw.

I always felt like hazelett's style was more catch wrestling (even tho I believe he's a bjj guy from background) and he showed a lack of fundamentals when faced against a really good bjj guy like mark bocek

Jeff Monson, numerous gold medals in Pan American, Abu Dhabi etc..one of the greatest submission grapplers in heavyweight history period with 59 wins, 36 of those by way of submission. Yet he is hardly ever mentioned for it.

Maia has been top 10 for years without developing any real striking prowess.

Poirier's BJJ.

Yea, he is really good on the ground.
He doesn't get props like he should, but he is sloppy too. He could have ended up tapping to the triangles KZ and Erik Koch threw at him.
I know he was hurt, but he got flipped by KZ and then ended up caught in his own favorite choke sub. Maybe he was rocked or hurt by KZ's previous strikes.
He has amazing skill, but he's been careless in the past.

Brian Ortega.
Jiu-Jitsu is godlike in real life. In game it is really bad.
Conor and Hollys Grappling ratings are too high.
Aldo's Grappling is lowly rated.
Also his hell kicks.
Weidman's Grappling is average sadly.
Silva's Clinch rating is sad.
Condits Grappling is pretty average.

Pat Barry was one of those guys. His leg kicks were really all he needed to do to end a fight but usually he chose to get KTFO.
