Fight to make: Frankie vs Pettis @LW

If anything Frankie needs to fight guys his own size at 135. Sadly that loss to gang member steroid user Ortega probably marks his exit from the ranks of the elite.

Edgar vs Cruz at BW
Edgar vs. Gil Melendez at FW
Edgar vs Maynard 4 at FW (series is 1-1-1...super rubber match)

And Pettis vs. Edgar sounds fine...seeing how Pettis has declined, even though he's not old. Generally, though, I'd like to see Frankie fight someone his age with similar wear/damage...a winnable fight then retirement. He doesn't need to keep fighting until he's 40 and get a bunch of unnecessary KO losses at the end of his career (like Liddell, Koscheck, Machida and many others).
 
Frankie has so much heart and been in so many wars.

At what point should he start thinking about all the damage his brain has taken over the years?

Exactly.

He held a belt, he reached the top. Time to think about life after fighting. Not that I think he needs to retire because of that loss, he absolutely mauled Rodriguez in May. There are a heap of winnable fights for Frankie, even more so at a lower weight. But he's going to slow down, and his chin won't get better.
 
Edgar should fight ricardo lamas. there still remains a pretty clear path back to a FW title shot for frankie given how he is a fresh matchup for Max. I'd like to see them book emmett similarly to edgar, preferably against a top 15 contender coming off a loss, so that way with both fighters coming off wins they can book edgar/emmett for a title shot at the end of the year
 
Pretty sure Edgar won't get a TS ever again.

I was thinking the same thing - v Pettis - and it should be at 155.
 
Frankie would maul Pettis.

Frankie to 135. Pettis to the point karate circuit.
 
Why would this happen right now and Frankie move back up to lightweight?
 
I know it doesn't work that way but I can't resist.

Pettis > Bendo x2 > Edgar x2
