Fig vs Moreno showed us why DJ doesnt belong

DJ isn't even fighting at 125 anymore. He's at 135 and killing it in ONE. I'd like to see him versus Moraes or Yan, though. I doubt DJ cuts to 125 again - he's getting older.

That being said, he wasn't a point fighter. He had more finishes than decisions during his title defenses. Figgy has a long way to go to be in the same class as DJ or other greats.
 
I think that’s a bit harsh, DJ wasn’t that bad to watch, he was just that dominant. And last nights fight was an absolute belter, not many flw fights that good. And those two are legit. So a bit harsh IMO.
 
DJ can win a fight against the baddest man on the planet, thing is......... He's still boring as fuck to watch!
 
I think Fig would be a much tougher fight for DJ than people are giving him credit for. He hits hard, has a good gas tank, is longer, has more range, and is heavier than DJ, and he's hard to hold down on the mat. I think DJ would win but it would be a tough fight.
 
For the same exact reason Conor is much more popular and respected than fighters like Khabib who on paper have better win/lose ratio. Being exciting is most important for fans.
 
If Mighty Mouse is able to beat them with his style then they shouldn't be champion. The sport was robbed the moment Henry won the belt and we didn't get to see a rematch. Arguably the 3rd best guy in the division is holding the belt right now.

It was obliviously an extremely entertaining fight but you just have to wonder if he could beat Henry or MM. I am leaning towards no with the way he fought.

Mighty mouse’s fault he didnt get a rematch if he had cut a reel trashtalking Cejudo for his cringey bullshit he would have gotten one. Instead he spends his time playing child games and acting like an entitled brat just complaining.

That said,CCC probably KO’s him in a rematch guy’s striking has gotten way better.MM is very obviously elite but his wins aren’t as impressive as they may seem. His best win, benavidez was ko’d like 20 times over 2 rounds vs fig. Horugachi? Couldn’t even cut it against cans in Japan. Cejudo? Good win but guy didn’t have one oz of striking at that time, rematch showed who is really better.

MM doesn't belong because he wouldn't have given us an exciting brawl and would have just easily outworked and outpointed both guys? Got it.

Mighty Mouse would destroy both of them in the same night. These divisions became irrelevant when Dana jumped to trade him right after he arguably beat henry in a decision. Dana is a clown.. without mighty mouse that division is a joke, MM would maul cejudo.
 
My mate is a massive MM fan and I said to him "MM would beat both of these guys easily, but the division is far better off without him around".
 
Yeah dumb take, entertainment doesn't equal good fighter.
I find Izzys style incredibly boring, but he's amazing regardless... Floyd often very evasive and safe, amazing fighter.. Barcelona/Man City have often played for possession, tedious tika taka stuff at times, effective and amazing.
 
Figueiredo would be just another "can" on DJ's record if he was still around.
