The way fig puts together his body shot combos, slips shots and angles off is far better than anything MM has for stand up. He could gas out though if he doesnt finish MM in first few rounds. The version of MM we’ve seen in One gets KO’d by fig or moreno IMO.

It was a good trade, while Askren was a far worse fighter atleast MM isn’t boring up the division. Had he still be champ and fig not being there FLW probably would have been closed and MM would be getting his ass kicked by BW’s.

Not that he sucked in terms of skills, but it exposed him to be nothing but a point fighter in comparison. If MM was fighting Moreno he would just stick to jabs, lowkicks and double leg lay and prays just to rack up points.

Not so with figeuredo, he was doing very well just pumping out his jab but instead he took risks and left himself open while trying to finish Moreno at many occasions.

This gave us a great fight that was more entertaining than all of MM’s squash matches combined. MM did have finishes but only when his outmatched opponents had surrendered basically and wanted out.

dont even get me started on DJ’s lack of personality or unwillingness to market himself.

DJ had 11 title defenses with 7 of them coming by finish. The notion that DJ is some point fighter because he doesn't just swing for the fences every punch is just laughable.

DJ has never had a performance as poor a Figgys was last night in his championship reign. I don't think DJ has taken that much damage in a single fight of his professional career. Figgy still fought well last night, that is just how great DJ is in comparison.
