Curious to see argentina in the next WC. They are the oldest team (29 years old average) and Messi will be 31, iguain 30, aguero 30, di maria 30, mascherano 34, zabaleta 33, maxi rodriguez too old, lavezzi 33. That's not old, but i wouldnt say it's "prime" age anymore.

Yeah, they'll be like Holland this Cup. Their top players still quality but a bit past their prime. They'll need some of the guys that are in their early 20s to step up. Lamela, Lanzini, maybe Pastore.

Honestly, they were a healthy Di Maria and Aguero and a better Higuain away from taking it this year.

Do they even have any young stand out prospects out there.

Many of the names today were already making headlines since 2004-2008 at youth tournaments (2 olympic golds , 2005 -2007 u-20 WC) as a team and otehr as stars by themselves.

Just look at the 2008 olympic squad roster how many guys are playing now.

They really should have scored at least once, and that would have been the cup. However, they didn't, and Germany scored when they got their chance. Great finish by Goetze. A goal worthy of winning the WC.

I wouldn't give it to Robben ahead of Messi ever, and I'm a big Arjen Robben fan. Definitely the Dutch's best player at least consistently.

They were never going to give it to James Rodriguez as Colombia were only quarterfinalists. It's understandable. Macherano deserves mention, but they were never giving it to a defensive player. I actually expected Muller to maybe get it, because Germany won. In my opinion, Germany didn't truly have standout individuals, but performed well as a team.

Robben or James? Messi was pretty much absent in most games. Even in the games he scored he was missing until he scored. Robben even against Costa Rica were he didn't scored he kept attacking and making runs from the wing. I think Messi is missing a true 10 like Riquelme to give him the ball. He has to track back to much to get the ball. I think that's why he look tired the last 2 games. Mascherano went from shit to the best Argentinean player in the last 2 games. I think he was adjusting back to DM. He really needs to leave Barcelona so he can play his natural position.
