If we're following the "Mpappe is 21st century Pele" narrative, France wins. Of course Pele got injured in the group stages. Historically Englands best teams have a tradition of getting beaten in the QFs.

There are African teams in the past I feel people would have been more interested in seeing. Ghana, Drogbas Ivory Coast, Milla or Etos Cameroon, Salahs Egypt etc. Heck feel people would have been interested in Weahs Liberia if they'd ever made the WC. This teams in the SFs because their goalie hasn't conceded a goal all tournament. Their best players are on defense. I think that's it.
