Tbh it's about the same, Croatias done better at WC, Yugoslavias did better at Euro and had their second golden generation interrupted by politics.

Austria-Hungary would probably be the best soccer country in Europe if they still existed. Just look at what 5 different pieces of that empire have accomplished seperate. Little 1954 Hungary had the greatest individual team of all time. Only World Cup loser to beat the team that beat them in the same tournament.

I agree with the Ronaldo & Ronaldinho part. I don’t like comparing Pele to modern players, but it’s looking like Neymar won’t be having the same international pedigree.

Turkey was in the WC semi-final in 2002.
