I require your assistance!

Let's have a race to find me a club that teaches KRAV MAGA in Kelowna/Vernon/Penticton/Westbank, British Columbia, Canada. I've searched, but you guys are probably better.

I'd appreciate it!

Also, to keep this on a topic, does anyone train Krav Maga? Any comments?

I wish I knew more about Krav Maga. Jason Bourne made it look pretty cool, I must admit.

But from what I gather, Krav Maga = Beat the crap out of the other guy any way possible with no regard for their life.

On a sidenote: considering the fact that it was invented by and for the jewish people, they got jacked for the name Jiu-Jitsu.

why is this in grappling?

Two reasons.

1. I repekt this forum's opinions more than the *gah* Standup forums.

2. Krav maga is kind of grappling... it's like grappling, with a ton of hitting and anti-grappling...

1. but this forum has some other things to do than proceed to ur outsourced Mc.Dojo search

2. Crap maga is as close to grappling as badminton is to Greco-roman wrestling.

Krav Maga taught in the U.S. and Canada is basically "flavor of the month" self defense. Find a good boxing, Judo, BJJ or MMA club instead. You will actually get to work on full power techniques with an actively resisting opponent.

I took Krav Maga - it was the gayest thing ive ever seen in my life.

Basicly - Kick in the balls, punch in the face.. gouge the eyes.. wash rinse repeat.. Then do it to 10 willing opponents at the same time - class over, hit the showers.

No techincal knowledge on how to throw a decent punch, a powerful kick, or foot work.
just "Kick, punch! FASTER!"

Only guy i have ever heard of is Itay Gil, who is like the lead coach for military armed forces in Isreal. He endorsed Krav Maga on a Discovery Channel special. A lot of the time i see girls teaching it, and its even worse.. I can ask my great grandmother how to defend her self and she will probably say "Kick him in the nuts, gouge his eyes, and run"

So basicly she knows Krav maga

this vid says freestyle jiujitsu cause Gil has done judo, and kickboxing as well.. but this video seems choreographed.

Forget Krav Maga. Go to Toshido. You'll learn everything there.

Don't get me wrong - I've been training BJJ for over 3 years now at one of our local clubs. But I was curious over Krav Maga.

Thanks for the help guys!
