Everyone talked about how in this fight Mir would be the first guy to beat 3 of the big dogs in Pride (though he got destroyed by Pride # 4 in Barnett). But is Fedor the first guy to beat the big 3 of the ufc from that same time period? Sylvia, Arlovski and Mir? I can't recall anyone else beating all three.

I didn't hear anyone talking about this, just from the opposite perspective of how Mir would be the first to beat the Pride guys.

Basically the 2000's big 3, but yes.

Also, you can make a case for Randy Couture being one of the big 3.

Randy Couture is the only UFC HW champ from his era that he hasn't fought yet but it's absolutely not essential to his legacy.

That is right! Fedor is the king of that era officially. Beat Cro Cop, Nog 2x, Tim, Mir and Arlovski. 6-0

lol, yeah, Mur.

I would argue that at the time these guys were champs and in that era the big 4 in Pride were Fedor, Cro Cop, Nog and Barnett. In the ufc it was Sylvia, Mir, Arlovski and Couture. In whatever order. Even though both Fedor and Mir are chinny now it was still an interesting fight because whomever won would be the first guy to have wins over 3 of the big guys from their era, from the other company.

Also interesting, of those 8 big names from that time, Fedor beat 5 of them (Nog, Cro Cop, Mir, Arlovski, and Sylvia). And of course he is one of those 8. So the only two big guys from his era he didn't beat were Couture and Barnett. Obviously there were other big name guys of that time period, Rizzo was doing good back in the day too and had epic battles with Couture and KO'd Barnett.

Anyone who doesn’t think Fedor would’ve been UFC champ during that era is absolutely ridiculous.

The only top dogs Fedor hasn't beaten from his time are Barnett, Couture and Ricco Rodriguez.
Mir makes it 6 former UFC champs under his belt.

Yep, Fedor is not just some can crusher haters...apparently he is the official UFCan Crusher <Moves>

If only the Fedor v Randy fight had happened. I believe then the "Big Four" would have fallen to Fedor.

I would have liked to of seen it. Heck, I'd still watch it. I don't care how old Couture is.

Fedor is for sure the GOAT, but this is 10 years too late

There is still time....

Though at this point I think Barnett beats him.

Possibly, but Barnett has been finished quick by Browne and somehow got subbed by Rothwell. His last fight was almost 2 years ago in a back and forth war (from what I remember) against Arlovski. I'd watch for sure.

Oh, speaking of Barnett, he beat Mir, Arlovski and Couture.

It was already crystal clear that Fedor was the best fighter of hi era, both in PRIDE, where he was champion, and in the UFC.

Both Fedor and Mir are past their prime, Fedor even more than Mir, but it was good to see Fedor beating Mir because Mir implied that Fedor had not declined and that the game just catch up, which is ridiculous.

I always thought (and still do) that Arlovski would've had a great chance against Fedor back in that era. Back when AA had his confidence I think that fight would've been a toss up and could've gone either way. Back then AA had that same unbeatable aura that Fedor had. AA was knocking out guys so fast you couldn't even tell wtf happened until you saw the replay in slow mo.

But I think those 2 losses to Sylvia messed with AA's head a little bit and by the time him and Fedor did fight I think AA wasn't the killer he was when he was the UFC champ. But then again the competition he faced as UFC champ wasn't nearly as good as the competition Fedor faced when he was ruling PRIDE.
