Media Fedor named most padded record by MMA on Point!

It's true. Of his ~25 or so wins in a row across ~10 years, only 10 or so opponents were top 10, only 15 or so opponents were top 15.

It's still an amazing record, even with the gimme's.
Remember Takase and Chonan were gimmies too for Anderson in PRIDE. And he lost. And at HW, everyone can knock you out.

I watch MMA cards.
So you're telling me you know nothing about MMA other than what you remember happening in the octagon?...interesting...I like to actually hear what people think other than myself and form my opinion based on that.

It's true, he fought a lot people with losing records, and got KOd by a middleweight who barely made Heavyweight by weighing in at 206, also got KOd by Mitrione who's on a 3 fight losing streaks.

I cant wait to see the responses to this
Hendo is one of the hardest hitters in MMA across weight classes and let's be honest, Fedor had him until Hendo used the cage (Fedor wasn't used to the cage) to get a once-in-a-lifetime shot from behind. Nicely done, but Fedor wins 8/10.

Mitrione is on a 3 fight losing streak? So? Anderson is on an 8 fight losing streak. Guess Anderson was never any good.

I'm not knocking it. Fedor's accomplishments are unparallelled. I'm merely saying it's true. He had lots of non-top-10 fights during his reign. And IMO it barely diminishes his accomplishments.

It takes the piss outta TS and the video, frankly. Denying he had lots of non-top-10 wins only proves their point and improves their trolling.

Frankly, most of it was because of the era he was in. While he was beating guys like Ogawa, Sylvia was beating guys like Wesley Corriera.....

Literally every other hw from that era has a bunch of cans on their resume too. Only a lot of them weren't as active as Fedor.

Don’t forget Bigfoot a mediocre HW beat the shit outta Fedor like a drum.

You can do this to anyone's record in the future. At the time and in his era of mma he was the GOAT particularly in the heavyweight division. He retires before Werdum and everyone would talk about how amazing he was still. Everyone loses if they stick around long enough. Remember he fought in the time of tournaments, soccer kicks, not knowing your opponent until the week of the fight and when PEDs were encouraged. These days fighters get to game plan for months for a specific opponent and turn down fighters left and right if they aren't great match ups. No one has equalled that run in the heavyweight division since. Stipe was the closest during his 3 title defence run and lead up to the title. he still took a loss from DC during this.

Fedor’s record is the most padded. Pride was a great show, but it wasn’t built like sports league. Complete mismatch fights might be very entertaining and hyped up star fighters, but they hurt fighters legacy in long term. It’s impossible to compare Fedor’s Pride run with Jones, GSPs or even Khabib’s run at UFC, because he mostly fought weak opponents. Pride consisted of few good fighters like Fedor, CroCop, Nog and few others, but for the most part it had Japanese pro wrestlers ( basically CM punks), giant freaks who couldn’t fight and a lot of crossover fighters with almost no MMA experience. Fighters were making their pro debuts in Pride all the time. It says a lot about the level of competition.
