Understand this when you are trying to get all pumped about "Fedor in the UFC". His physical appearance and fight style changed way back near the fall of Pride.

The losing streak starting in 2010 was only "shocking" to people who hadn't been watching his fights and his career choices. So unless we're talking some kind of "TRT Fedor", he will come in as another hit and miss heavyweight, living off his name recognition, in a division full of these men.

People should encourage Fedor to retire. The UFC should put out a high dollar bounty for big named "big men" and the infamous " A-level atheletes" to bring some new blood into heavyweight, instead of relying on guys who peaked a decade ago. The only reason to talk about current Fedor is to tell fans to go back and watch some Pride dvds or videos to see him when he was something to behold.

I will watch all of his fights and remain a fan, win or lose, no matter for which organization he fights.

So are a lot of elite guys in the heavyweight division.
If the man wants to do it, and the UFC wants to sign him, let them be.

If his fight style changes again he may prolong his career and win a few legit fights making his return a bit more worthwhile

10 years ago his skillset was far better than anyone, by today standards he is average, he is right in the mix with everyone, Overeem, Arlovski, Barnett, Hunt, Nelson, Mir, Werdum, Rothwell, guys around his age.

There are fun fights for Fedor in the UFC, you just don't need to have insane expectations.

I still would watch him 2day.
Even after last saturday.

I say Fedor Vs Shogun at 205lbs .

Who's watching?

I wouldn't say 10 years, but I would accept the Arlovski fight as his first definitive sign of decline. He still got the KO, but looked pretty terrible up until that point. Nowhere near as fluid and unpredictable as he used to be, just looking for that one big shot.

And now....well, the guy's 38 and spent his entire 20s fighting at HW. What do you expect?

Spend the money on big name, big men. Like who? Brock lesnar, did it (hasnt fought in 5 years .500 record)
-shaq? (Cant afford hi km)
- randy may (id pay to see it, him vs mm)
-andre the giant (dead already)

Fedor hasn't been motivated since PRIDE folded. Now he is also a shot fighter physically.

I agree mate - although he has earned the right too do whatever he wants.

I'm not really saying he should be stopped, it's more like there is just not much to be legitimately gained, other than "watch Fedor struggle to hang with guys he would have ran through 10 years ago". So it's just not exciting to me.

I totally agree - I've already seen Ken Shamrock become a laughing stock and get beat up and that was pretty tough to take.

How many years is Henderson past his prime?
Henderson is a whole different situation, he's far from his prime but he has a different career and fight style. He should retire as well. Most guys here either have no clue or don't care how much brain damage these guys accumulate, and it is wayyy worse towards the end.

He didn't look bad physically. His hands are still faster than most heavyweights. He just fought like someone from UFC 10.

We as fans have no right to say when a fighter should retire. Only the fighters family should question when their loved one should consider to retire, and even then it comes down to the fighter themselves making that decision.

Fedor's speed and power were still on display, but as he gets older his recovery time starts to fade and fade fast. He can be competitive in the UFC but cannot come in with the same gameplan, needs to incorporate his beautiful throws and sweeps and devastating ground n pound.

As long as he still fights, his fights will get me more pumped, excited, nervous and anxious than any other fighter about to fight.

To be honest, I didn't think he looked that bad. He still seemed fast and his punches were accurate. He just had bad strategy. Once he got patient and picked his shots he was winning the fight. His mistake was wading in and winging punches with no respect for Maldonado's technique or power. I think he could potentially make waves in the UFC but he needs to fight smarter.

And I'm by no means a Fedor fan.

Fedor is more than 10 years past his peak, his peak was in 2003. Russian Top Team was his best camp.

I still would watch him 2day.

Everyone in the world is watching.
