Fedor interview. He wants to fight Werdum.

If he didn't go to the UFC in his prime, he won't go now.

Fedor talked about fighting the best athletes, then ends up fighting Jaideep.

Now he's talking about Werdum, but his next fight will probably be against Butterbean or a grappling match vs Gabi Garcia.

I don't get excited for Fedor anymore.

It's pretty clear from that interview Fedor is mainly fighting to help get his team mates into the spotlight. He even says that. And it's no coincidence that all his team mates fight on the same cards that he does nowadays.

With that said, I don't doubt that he wants to rematch Werdum. But his priority is his team mates.

Spot on.

Plus he always speaks about Russia this, Russia that as if we're still in the cold war era or whatever. He should just put together a one last good run at the top.

No one has won titles because Fedor or some other great fighter was in his camp. You mostlyt need a good gym and even then every fighter makes his own star shine individually. This "help my team"is crap. If you're good you go to the USA, train in the best gyms, with the best guys, become even better and eventually you become a champ one day. The blueprint here is pretty obvious and has been set for some time now. Fedor failed to move on imho. Still there is some hope, though very little.

Look at the angry fanboys.

Typical BS childish response on sherdog. Fedor handled that question like a professional athlete. Maybe you should realize that mma is a business and fighters on Fedors level have many interests in mind when they sign a contract. This isnt high school where they just fight anyone by the Football field.

He deserves criticsm you goof. How many more times does he need to screw over his fans by fighting non-MMA fighters in can-organizations while teasing you about UFC signings, before you realise the man is full of it and nothing he states can really be trusted?

Please.

Not enough to join the UFC or fight decent heavyweights.

There are many many factors and other business interests that a fighter like Fedor have to consider when decided who he signs with. A simple want to fight someone is certainly not a deal maker at this point. They asked him simple questions about the UFC and fighting Werdum, he replied that they're always talking to them and he would like the fight. But you have to realize this is a big business that goes beyond just wanting to fight someone. Fedor's interests and motivations are not the same as other fighters.

If he wanted to fight Werdum he would have signed with Zuffa so that would be possible, Calling out somebody that it is impossible to fight is crazy especially coming from Fedor he is better than that

Yes as much as his fighting career turned into a joke, he is now even tarnishing the myth of "Oh he's such a good guy who never talks nonsense." too.

bullshit.
and i'm a fedor fan.
exactly.

this is totally on him, he's had every chance to fight in the ufc now and he keeps ducking it. money-wise he'd be treated like a king. the co-promotion dream died a long time ago when he started losing, so they can't use that as an excuse anymore.

Me as well, especially after that last circus he made - with him coming to America, hyping things up, raising expectations and then the letdwon was epic for me.

He seems too stuck in his old ways.

Oh really Fedor? Is that why you avoided the UFC once again?

Why is there no translation? Questions in English and answers in Russian with no translation?
What I'm supposed to take TS' word?
You guys on sherdog all speak Russian?

Nonsensical talk from him as usual. Fedor's words mean nothing because his actions are always pathetic.

pathetic? you fucking worm, what is pathetic about doing what is best for your family and your own pocket? THe fact that he didnt sign his life and rights to his life away to uncle dana on a remote island in the caspian sea makes him pathetic? Dude retired on a 3 fight win streak and said fuck it im done even though i just blew thru these 3 guys like nothing and decides 4 years later at age 40 to come back to put on some shows for the fans and you call that pathetic? GTFO and go watch Jared rosholt fight some unknown on a prelim.

Screw over??? If you're a fan of Fedor then you should not be crying about his past moves because he always fought top HWs. He did Affliction that had Sylvia, Andrei, Rothwell and Barnett and he did SF which at the time had a stronger HW roster then the UFC. And you're crying that he signed with Rizin??? At 39 years old and being retired for 3 years?? Its clear that Fedors motivations and interests go beyond just competing, its clear that he wants to stay active but more importantly promote the sport of mma in Russia and help his team of fighters develop.

You're criticizing and bitching about Fedor not coming to the UFC because you want to serve your own interests to see him fight there. You should grow up and take into consideration that he has other interests in mind. As long as Fedor and his team agree and are happy with his moves then that is all that matters.

This is a business buddy, sometimes deal goes one way and sometimes they go the other way. At that level they have other things to consider than making you happy.

They should offer him a one fight contract against Werdum (If he wins). Once last at UFC Fedor......

I'm sure if Werdum left the UFC right now and challenged Fedor in Rizin, he would accept. So technically you can claim he's "interested" in the sense that he would take the fight if it fell into his lap.

That said, he's clearly not interested in pursuing the fight or doing anything to make a case for it. He decided not to join the UFC, decided not to fight for any other promotion with a decent heavyweight, and didnt even want to fight the best opponents his own card had to offer. What he claims to want or be interested in is meaningless.

Yes it was pathetic, you nuthugging blind fanboy. He should have been honest about his comeback from the beginning. Should have said listen, I'm still too scared to sign in the UFC so I'm just gonna join a can organization and fight a kickboxer with no ground work, and then in the fight just take him down.
Instead he hypes it up and teases about the UFC again while doing the opposite.

Yeah no sure, everybody from Pride and the other orgs since were "slaves" and totally haven't benefitted from fighting in the UFC. Everybody except the mighty Yemelyenenko were 'smart enough to avoid it'. You fanboys are still on that? Your nonsense doesn't evolve, just like your hero's career.

He said he is currently in talks with the UFC and that if the UFC wants he will go there. Lol bullshit Dana has wanted him to fight in the UFC more than once and he never did it.

Btw i speak russian so i know exactly what he said, he is seeming like hes bullshitting.
