It's pretty clear from that interview Fedor is mainly fighting to help get his team mates into the spotlight. He even says that. And it's no coincidence that all his team mates fight on the same cards that he does nowadays.

With that said, I don't doubt that he wants to rematch Werdum. But his priority is his team mates.

The heavyweight division is full of older seasoned fighters and Cain who is injury proned. Normally I don't like when fighters hop in and out of retirement but I honestly think he has a shot to win the UFC title as the division stands right now. Arlovski was one fight away for a title shot! You can't tell me Fedor doesn't have a shot. The division is wide open in my opinion.

relevance is an issue when talking about wanting to fight werdum. he sure isn't pursuing it. he could have fought werdum already if he went ahead and signed.
