Fedor Emelianenko: Russian Hook & overhand right

Great technique? You mean lunging wild sloppy punches with your chin up? Dude makes Ronda look like Maywheather

Not that it matters though. MMA isn't boxing and most MMA fighters have flawed boxing technique. What matters is "effective striking" and Fedor has just as effective striking as anyone.

You can find short clips to make the greatest boxers of all time look sloppy. Everyone opens up and throws defensive posture out the window when their opponent is hurt. Ray Leonard highlights have him looking like a windmill when his opponent is turtled on the ropes like that.

I love the sheer violence. Screw the textbook nerds.

Watch the combinations against Goodridge, that's the definition of sloppy.

Fedor benefited from the threat of the clinch in the same way that Rousey does. They charge with aggression and wild strikes to throw off an opponent (either land a damaging strike or catch them off balance) to achieve the clinch in which they'd transition to a takedown. There weren't many fighters that could keep Fedor at bay by establishing a good jab or lateral movement which made him so successful.

It was either take a barrage of wild hooks or get thrown on your ass.

So, sloppy would mean that his strikes are thrown with poor technique, which was very rarely the case. The reason he couldn't be held back with a jab or movement is because his movement and timing were stellar. There is more to defense than slipping punches or working the Philly shell. Highlights videos don't do fedor justice in the sense of showing his skill level because they usually only show clips of him blitzing his opponents, not him cutting off the ring to keep them trapped or using head movement and footwork to set up his shots.

He did throw with poor technique in Pride, with his most refined performance being against CC in which he came with a more calculated approach. His winded up hooks with his chin straight in the air is nothing short of sloppy. We can all agree that Fedor's timing was exceptional for HW, but that doesn't discount the fact that his offensive attack was indeed sloppy. It was hard for fighters to make him pay for it due to his transition game.

Hendo also hurt Fedor on the feet early in the fight lol and then proceeded to knock him the fuck out after Fedor got... you guessed... SLOPPY. He oustruck Fedor and Arlovski was outstriking Fedor before the KO.

You've already been dealt with and quite easily at that. Like I said, you should just save face and delete your account. It's not even fun to humiliate you anymore.

Hendo and Fedor was back and forth and Hendo was the only one who got dropped from the feet, so take that for what it's worth

I posted the Arlovski fight. Anyone who watches that can see that the striking was virtually even before Fedor murdered him

lol talk about diverting from the original argument. The original argument was me responding to a poster who said Fedor's striking was awful. Unless you want to debate that with me then you look like a tool following me around. I get that you're still pussyhurt about me posting facts regarding your hero Anderoid, but you should probably get over it cause you're wasting your time.

I feel these conversations always get derailed because there are so many aspects to effective striking. Technique is obviously a big one and it is frequently the one everyone gets hung up on.

Speed, power, accuracy, aggression, alternating high & low targets, are just some of the others.

Just because Fedor wings his hooks in an unorthodox manner doesn't mean they're ineffective. And as someone else pointed out his very real clinch and take down skills often had his opponents unwilling to get in a slug fest with him for fear of ending up on the wrong end of his dangerous submission game.

Might as well say that Chuck Liddell had bad striking too.

At the end of the day its results that matter and Fedor had more than a few KO's.

Lol at armchairs specialists, and notorious Fedor haters like yourself judging one of the most elusive ( was the most elusive one in front of both Anderson and Machida until his loss streak ) fighters in MMA's technique and boxing.. ( we know Russians are unorthodox but results speak for themselves )

Could we see some videos of your fights and/or bag/mitt work so we can see your flawless boxing technique at work please ?
Errrr... I forgot for that to be possible you'd have to be training in the first place..

You refuted his post saying that Fedor wasn't getting outstruck by Arlovski and then you proceeded to say that Fedor was outstriking Hendo before he was KO'd lol I proved you wrong and now you can't handle it.

And now you are bringing up Anderson in a thread that involves Fedor because you're so damn asshurt. And no I'm not following you around, you just happen to post a lot of dumb shit.

This poor kid :icon_lol:

Another asshurt Fedor fan that can't accept someone not hugging onto his sack.

He was effective with how he fought and that's all that matters. This isn't boxing or kickboxing, which is why he was able to be sloppy and still be successful. Jones is sloppy in his boxing approach as well.

Can I see footage of you training, actually?

So what is the point of your "refutation" about Hendo? Are you agreeing with the other poster saying Fedor is an awful striker or are you just nitpicking posts cause you're pussyhurt?

I'm saying that he was handily outstruck by Hendo. You know, refuting the dumb shit you said.

Good god...

So diverting away from the original argument and starting a new argument about Hendo/Fedor. Got it.

Redcans this is your first post itt in response to me:

Another day, another retarded post from faustian.

Significant strikes:
Hendo - 22
Fedor - 7

Arlovski - 15
Fedor - 5

Always making excuses for Fedor. So delusional you thought he fought Wanderlei.

If that doesn't reek of pussyhurt then I don't know what does

What the fuck is wrong with you, son? Are you that mentally inept?

He said that Fedor was getting outstruck, you said he wasn't and then you said "Well if he was getting outstruck against Arlovski then you have to admit that Fedor was outstriking Hendo before the flash ko" which is wrong on both accounts. You need help

The most laughed at poster in the Heavies telling me I need help. LMFAO

Anyways, take your meds Redcans and I'm sure I'll see you in the next thread I post in

He has great striking. Rarely got hit throughout his career, yes in part because of the grappling threat but also his timing. The way he threw his hooks made countering him hard because his shoulders was defending his head

I must be the independent voter in the thread.

I feel like Fedor had Dan in real trouble until he got swept and ate that armpit KO shot.

However, I had Arlovski winning the striking in that match just prior to getting KTFO'd. He was backing Fedor up with his shots and I thought I was about to see the end of an era before the flying knee-to-haymaker collision.
