In his first 24 fights Fedor fought the likes of Arona, Babalu, Herring, Schilt, Nogueira, Randleman, Goodridge and Fujita. And yes, he crushed cans because that was the landscape of the sport then and common for fighters who fought 5x per year.

The year Fedor beat Nog for the belt he also fought 4 more times that year and two of those fights were against Goodridge and Fujita just 8 weeks apart. Clowns like you will criticize Fedor for being active but will Celebrate Stipe for a title fight once every 2 years.

If you don't see how this kind of a schedule is more conducive to wear and tear and injuries it just confirms that you're a mid American basement dweller who has never trained in his life.

Tom Aspinal blew his knee out from almost nothing against blaydes and injuries happen in all sorts of ways. Fighting 5x a year even if some of those fights are against cans raises the probability of injuries and wear and tear. If you weren't a lazy couch dweller you would understand.

You know…it makes me a little sad you never give me any credit, Martin. I never call someone a ranked win because FightMatrix “generated” it. I also don’t play the “but Lindland was a ranked MW” card. I can pull an actual, contemporary rankings for each person, from reputable outlets of the time, for the heavyweight division. There are 11.

You know what’s funny, is I was searching for an old ranking stat in a thread here on Sherdog recently. I came across an old Fedor thread, and right away @MartinGibson86 jumped in doing his usual Fedor hating routines. And immediately some dude quoted him and said, “Here he goes again….”

The thread was from 2017 <45>
Like, I think PowerSlap is stupid, so I have never once posted in those threads. I think the Paul Bros are stupid, so I don’t post in those threads. But ol Martin has been diving into Fedor threads for literal years doing this shit. Fedor must’ve banged his prom date or something, it’s so bizarre.

But in all seriousness, you and I were just discussing the Maldonado fight, and we were in agreement. Do you think I’m saying some crazy shit about Fedor outside the realm of reality? Plenty of people think he’s the GOAT, I’d say the vast majority of mma fans familiar with him at least believe he’s the HW GOAT. Is he some magical, invincible being who can never lose, never make a mistake, or whatever? Of course not.

No, but sadly Powerslap and the Paul Bros have become relevant topics in MMA. Is that your issue (sincere question)? I totally get that Fedor fans can be kind of insufferable. And it’s probably the same sort of dynamic that I have with Conor fans: I have always thought Conor is wildly overrated, and his fans are so insufferable that it makes the whole thing even worse. Because Conor is a relevant figure in MMA, I’ll post in those threads *sometimes*. Like, occasionally. But you’re in any and every Fedor thread, every single time, without fail, and it apparently has been that way for quite a few years.

Its…odd. That’s all I’m saying.

Stipe had a nice 6 fight win streak in his prime. 6 fights. Very Good but not great. Or not the greatest.
 
Well it's ok if someone nominates Fedor for goat. However wishing his loses away doesn't mean they don't exist. Actually I pretty much only count those 3 at strike force, loses after 40 are whatever.

Fedor was small. Nganou, Gane, Stipe, DC and many others I predict would've beaten him.


But he was beastly earlier in his career. Who knows.
 
Fedor's resume is damn impressive. Amazed how there are a dozen pages of arguing that fact. The man fought most of the greats from his era. Sure it would have been great to see him throw down with Randy and I really wanted that Barnett fight. But lets be real, both of those would have gone Fedor's wait too.

Love him or irrationally hate him, Fedor is the HW GOAT. We will likely not see a run like his again in our lifetime. Appreciate what we got to see.
