I like Swype Beta, i've been using it for a while now and it's really awesome. On my old phone I had Swype pre-installed but imo the Beta is much better and I like how the new release has themes. I have SwiftKey but I don't like it as much as Swype.

How about you guys?

i use the default keyboard that came on my S2. have it set to the swype setting.

i got over swype a while ago

i can't stand the ordinary keyboard on my One X though.. the period is next to the tiny spacebar which makes it impossible not to hit the period whenever you type

I thought the One X keyboard was one of the better default keyboards?

maybe i've got fat fingers or something lol..

i dunno my experience with it has been great barring that one little thing.. the spacebar should be sliiightly longer

I've gotten really good with Swype recently. It's the best way to lazily type things at an appreciable speed.

although i'm gonna upgrade to the galaxy s3 soon because my touchscreen is strarting to clunk out

The standard full keyboard on Droid 4 is just fine for me.

I tried Swype, can't get any of the words I'm going for. People tell me to get used to it. Nah, I'll be able to type anything just as fast on the regular keyboard.

You've already got the best one. There's Swype, Swiftkey, SlideIt, Touchpal, Adaptxt, Smartkeyboard, and I'm sure plenty of others. The first three are the heavyweights. Swype almost always gets the vote in the tech blog comparison articles that I've seen: regardless of the version. I particularly appreciate the thumb-style keyboard mode that Swype offers on the tablet (in case I'm holding it with two hands, and don't want to hold it with one and swype with the other).

You have to build your personal library of words. If it isn't showing up in the list of words, then type it out in full, as you would on your standard android keyboard, then select it on the far left of the list of shown words. It's added to your library after an entry like this. It will come up in the list of words, now. If you consistently choose it when you make this general swyping action in the future, then it will gain priority status and be the default word spat out.

You most certainly cannot type as fast on a regular android keyboard as you can with Swype, dude. Not even freaking close. Saying that is like the classic pecker telling me he can type faster with two fingers than using all of his digits. He just hasn't learned the skill. Some kid managed 55 words per minute on Swype in the world texting competition. Swype has the record.

I used to use Swiftkey but once I got Android 4.2 I just use the stock one. The stock keyboard is getting better and better.

I'm using the stock HTC one that came installed on my Desire.
I maybe send 5 texts a month, so never bothered installing any others.

I've been using Go Keyboard for a while now. The updates can be annoying but it has a lot of features.

Yea Go Keyboard is great, its swipe function is pretty good and I like how you can customize it with your own pics in the back of the keyboard.

I've been using stock android 4.2 lately though and I think the swipe is better than Go's.

Any touch screen keyboard on a smart phone is useless to me because I don't have lady fingers. At least you could use a stylus on an old Blackberry.
