BJJ Favorite ways of getting someone in mount off of you

1. Chain upa-shrimp (elbow escape)
2. Catch a leg and get to half guard
3. Bridge and roll
4. Kip
5. Try to get to a heel hook position (a la Garry Tonnon)
6. Fake turning belly down and recover half guard when they go to put a hook in
7. Hail Mary: bait an armbar and try to defend it-- pray they don't get the armbar

Basics always work the best

I only know about bridging. Trap a arm and bridge on that side. I think you can try to trap their leg too. Also what Hill did to Glover, back door, like slipping underneath them, but I think they gotta be high and a bit off balance like throwing gnp. So you gotta move with them. When they go for stuff. How I remember it.

What is 4 ?
6 They do this all the time in the UFC, sometimes it looks like quitting sometimes like a desperate atempt. But makes sense that´s it´s simply a atempt to get a position going.

You know kipping when you do pullups? Kicking your legs to help you? Similar concept.

that looked funny the chicken flap defense. Don´t think I ever saw this in MMA. Like ever. Wait did Volk shake his legs frantically to not tap to Ortega or who was it.

Yeah, he did that, he tried to keep Ortega's hips low, he fought grips. Ortega lost a bit of position and his arms burned out. That shit was tight.

Willed his way out of a tight submission. Refuse to lose.

I've escaped via them attempting the armbar fairly often but I never thought of baiting lol thank you for the information sir

I actually learned that from watching Dan Henderson in his first fight with Shogun. He did it a couple of times IIRC. The fact of the matter is that most people don't have a great armbar from the mount. I took a few months and got mine on point, that's how I know how tricky it is. If you don't execute it perfectly, there are generally several opportunities to escape, and what's better is it's low physical effort, and you usually come up on top.

Bridge, scoop one of their thighs with both arms, reverse shrimp. It will start a scramble (you getting side controlled) so be ready to do a sit out when you get to your knees first before they try to control your head/neck.

I personally like to groan suggestively and mutter sweet nothings under my breath. Unless I'm training with a fairly exotic individual, this never fails to get me out of mount.

Leg Catch to Deep Half or Kipping. Nothing comes close to those.
Knee elbow escape to half, lockdown, try to whip up to dogfight but they base.

Keep the lockdown, underhook the far leg, sweep with over under and then kneebar from the top with your lockdown.

Sure it's a lot more steps than kipping out to slx and an ankle lock or outside heelhook finish, but the sheer demoralization of it is glorious.

My favorite way is when my opponent secures mount, I immediately start instructing them and giving them tips. So, when I inevitably tap, it is only because of my expert instruction...
I hate these guys at striking too albeit they are rare. I light box this guy 2 weeks ago, he starts sharing knowledge. Bout how non set up body hooks don't land cause they are 3 x slower than a cross and other things he saw Max Holloway do. I'm thinking dude I am playing with you go on sherdog or reddit if you wanna chat. You're too easy to talk during the practicing.
