Favorite War Room Posters

Who are your favorite war room posters?

My top 3:

IDL
- He has vision. He sees the big picture. Some people have helicopter view. He has satellite view.

ripskater
- Good Christian man with a sense of humor.

Pwent
- He's one of the sharpest posters on Sherdog. I picture him sitting behind the computer like a king, posting sharp post and getting a lot of likes.

@IDL
@ripskater
@Pwent
All those posters you mentioned are cans.

@Overpressure is tight. Not as stridently opposed to trump as I'd like but someone has to keep a level head.

@HomerThompson sticks it to trumpets well.

@Ham Socks also righteous.
Many more actually. The war room isn't the alt right den it appears to be on the surface if you stick around for a bit.

@AgonyandIrony for being the dude who I could rock all night and party every day with. ?1?
@Bald1 because we strangely see eye to eye. :eek: Also honorary party mention. ?1?
@dontsnitch delivers consistently good stuff in spite of lacking much style or flamboyance. :D
@Greoric for being a cool cat and fun to debate. :cool:
@Gutter Chris makes lots of sense and keeps it real. :cool:
@Jack V Savage for being damn sharp and the entertaining shitstorm he attracts. <Eek2.0>
@Madmick for being top tier intelligent and keeping our vocabulary on its toes. :oops:
@Pwent for being...not sure exactly but I like him. :confused:
@Rod1 for being highly capable and well-rounded. :)
@VivaRevolution for wanting to take every motherfucking politician to task. :mad:

That's an eclectic list if I've ever seen one.

I can't pull the trigger and give my list, it's just not end of the year. This is Christmas in July and I'm not having it.

No, the original anarchists didn't want any hierarchy.
@Thames

Man, I was just getting excited for you dropping my name in a "favorite war room poster" thread. Sad.

I kind of expected you would be able to deduct what is meant by eliminating hierarchy. True anarchism rejects the hierarchy that is inherent in a capitalist society. We are talking in economic terms here, you know, private ownership, means of production, property rights, owner - labour etc. We are not talking about a society where all participants in a track and field run have to share a gold medal regardless of result; which I assume is what you meant when you talk about the "hierarchy in evolutionary biology".

For a guy that spends a concerning amount of time discussing "anarchy" and economics, you understanding of what is being discussed inside this subject still remains poor.

But bravo for turning yet another thread into a discussion about anarcho capitalism.

I enjoy reading posts from a bunch of guys and usually don't like to write up these lists as omission might be taken as a slight. Here are a few anyways.

@IDL @AviatorShades @TheGreatA fall under the always interesting, agree or disagree but can't dismiss posters heading. I always read their stuff.

@Kafir-kun and @dontsnitch are perennial favourites. When these two get into one of their back and forths it's always worth reading.

@Cubo de Sangre for the why and how of things. Great guy to bounce ideas off to see if they have merit.

@snakedafunky is a funny German? Must be the end times. Level headed guy and head ovenologist.

There. Short and sweet. All in all most of the WR is better informed than the general public so worth reading.

That is weird but true. In a way, Sherdog is an online cesspool of piss & shit, and I tend to snob everything online as "not serious" (yeah in a way I am a dinosaur although only in my mid-30's).

But at the same time, the debates in the WR in the information you can get here can be of very high quality.

It shames me to admit it, but I find more like-minded people here than IRL, where everybody is a limp-wristed pussy, at least in Yurrp & Québec (the 2 places I know).

I am by far the most radical person of all the people I know (family, friends and colleagues), yet here in the WR I am kind of in the middle of the spectrum.

Your list is scary close to the one I would have made. The only poster I don't know is snake, I'll have to look out for him.

I think many people lack nuanced understanding of topics, or are too invested, so lazy thinking leads them to mislabeling those with deeper understanding, or just with a more complex thought on matters. Applies both here and in real life.

Other than that, yeah, agreed.

Good guy with a brutal sense of humour. Always up for a chat in order to gain a better understanding of either the topic at hand or a different view. Lacks the judgemental gene. And that's always a bonus.

Man, I was just getting excited for you dropping my name in a "favorite war room poster" thread. Sad.

I mentioned you but didn't tag. I don't really like being tagged myself so I usually don't do it. I don't mind if it's a poster I like, but I don't presume.

But bravo for turning yet another thread into a discussion about anarcho capitalism.

I believe it started with pwent indicating that he didn't understand how gov't policy shapes market distribution after Cubo mentioned how he seemed clueless on economic issues. Eventually pwent indicated that he thought *I* thought that without gov't prevention all wealth would flow upwards (LOL) so I pointed out that no gov't actually means some form of communism (speaking broadly). Greoric came in on that point to bizarrely state that "what we know about biology" means that no gov't equals capitalism, despite the fact that out of the many hundreds of stateless societies we've actually observed, none have been capitalist. Note that he's a Molyneux disciple (and recently pretended not to even know who that is despite having previously mentioned him and linked to videos and stolen his catchphrases).

It's ironic because these market fanatics actually dismiss the best argument for capitalism--the reason I'm a capitalist: that a huge portion of the total improvement in human living standards has come in the short time since we developed the system in areas where the system was in place. But that's an argument for actually existing capitalism, with safety nets, taxation, regulations, etc.

Hehe, thank you. Likewise. My list of favorite posters remains unchanged, but perhaps I have missed some new talent.
I haven't really been that active this year, or been in any stimulating debates (aside from a few EU related threads, but as usual they turned ugly when the alt-right crowd showed up), so I don't expect much recognition.

Yeah the biology thing is odd. Can't wait to see if he will clarify that statement. Because as it stands, it certainly looks extraordinarily dumb.

Well, as you mention, capitalism needs a government.
It's really baffling to me that they in an-cap circles have still not dealt with that subject. Like, how can they just march on with that gigantic elephant in the room? I actually tried to listen to a Molyneux podcast (god save my soul) on property rights. And it was truly the audio version of Bambi on ice. To sum it up, he ended up with that all property will be assigned according to "labor theory of property", and this property right will be enforced by "dispute resolution organizations" i.e. a private police force/mercenaries.

Like how are they not able to see a significant hole in that theory? How are we AT BEST not just going to end up with medieval feudalism? And that's of course just touching the tip of the iceberg of this glorious ideology. But the thing is, these an-caps have not even dealt with the tip of the iceberg yet in any intellectual sense. It's all just taxation=force -> force=violence -> your family wants you dead -> Join our cult.

And yes, Greoric does indeed know who Molyneux is. I clearly remember I have had discussions with him revolving around statements from Molyneux.

I'm here gais.. you can start praising me now.

A lot of these guys are like Daniel Wormald balking at Mike's price in BCS and wanting to just do the deal on their own.

It's all just taxation=force -> force=violence -> your family wants you dead -> Join our cult.

Yep. The "non-aggression principle" is useful in sorting them. Anyone with a triple-digit IQ can easily see that it's based on circular reasoning.

And yes, Greoric does indeed know who Molyneux is. I clearly remember I have had discussions with him revolving around statements from Molyneux.

I thought that was really weird. I'd really like to see @Greoric explain why he chose to pretend not to know who he was.

Look at 197 and 208.

Without looking at your thread topics, I'd guess its your area of discussion. You're a thinker that enjoys ideas, as opposed to the majority of people (even within the WR) that just enjoy talking about people or events [Enter Socrates' quote on average, mediocre, and great minds].

It's lonely. Even without delusions of moral or intellectual superiority. :(

I guess that's why I'm attracted to sports as a medium of discussion. One can be both knowledgeable and ignorant simultaneously. It's liberating.
