Favorite Foreign Film

I'll just choose the cliché option

In the mood for love/花样年华
Is my absolute favorite among so many Chinese and Japanese movies, the sheer level of acting, incredible feelings of stubbornness, loneliness, lust, love and ultimately loss hits me right in the feels, not to mention the intense level of photography within the film.

Chosing 2.

Amelie. Watched so many times.

Cinema Paradiso the original version.

The lives of others, as previously mentioned.
Der Bader Meinhof Komplex
Dude wheres my coche?

The Killer
À bout de souffle
Police Story
Seven Samurai
La Haine

The City of Lost Children.

The Princess and the Warrior.

Both are in my personal top 15 all time favorites.

Martyrs definitely tops that list.

Raid: Redemption was cool.

Oldboy obviously.

Two Dutch classics, Mama is Boos (Mom's Angry) and Schatjes (Honeys). Terrific films, funny, violent, but very '80s.

A Prophet - A French prison film. It's easily one of my favourite films of all time, foreign language or not. The story it tells is complex, subtle and poignant. The performances, script, cinematography, all amazing.

Cannot recommend it highly enough.
