You missed the mantis losing to the scorpion

Preying Mantis. I actually am not afraid to catch these and hold them in my hand. I've caught some big ones too. They are very friendly. Never had one try to attack me in self defense. A lot of times if I see one chilling on a leaf or branch, I can put my hand near them and they will willingly crawl on my hand. I've never had one try to fly away from me either.

They are super friendly for predator insects. If you haven't been around them, then you don't know. I like to pet them with my finger and they will chill there and clean their claw grabber things.

I suspect they are highly intelligent. They know who or what is a threat and whats not.

Everytime I've caught one, I will hold him for a few minutes and pet him, then let him go in a safe place.

We have a lot of these where I live.

I'm not really afraid of animals or insects. The only ones I won't mess with are spiders other than jumping spiders. They are super friendly and smart too..

Snakes, I will catch them and pet them, then let them go. Even poisonous ones. Water moccasons. I've caught them and they have been friendly.

I am 100% confident I can catch rattle snakes and cobras bare handed and not get bitten.

I also feel like I can pet big predator cats like mountain lions and not get attacked. You can win over most if not all animals if you offer them some food. They love food. I feel like I could befriend a bear by offering him food.

Gotta agree on the mantis and the jumping spider.. if curiosity is a measurement of intelligence they are very intelligent..

Kept a mantis once.. once i forgot to close the vivarium and the little fucker escaped..

I kind of suspected they were intelligent enough to be predictable so i simply scouted the room for the best hunting position..

The curtain rod or on top of the bookshelves seemed natural.. sure enough.. there it was.. took me less than 10 seconds to find it..

Call it dumb luck but finding one single insect by applying logic shouldn't be possible by luck..
