I liked it a lot as well. The midget was my favorite character. It's also a complete 180 from the typical westerns he was doing.

Play Misty For Me is totally underrated, one of his best ever.

Not from the 70s, but Sudden Impact is a much better Dirty Harry movie than The Enforcer.

It has comedy elements and the main cast are bunch of "rebels" doing their own thing while killing the bad guys. And they win at the end. A fun ww2 movie.
