Mine is Hughes fight 2... amazing to see him become WW champ :)

My favourite BJ of all time was...

I'll go with this one...Beating the #1 (at the time) LW in the world.

The Sanchez fight is one of the most lopsided in MMA history, but I think the Sherk fight really showed just how great BJ was. That was a guy who went to a 5 round decision with Matt Hughes, and who's only other stoppage loss was to GSP.

BJ beat him so bad he's now criminally underrated for the rest of eternity.

I'm going to pick one that's kinda off the grid. I thoroughly enjoyed the Rodrigo Gracie fight.

This is a good point. Not only had Sherk only lost to the 2 best WWs of all time, he was technically and physically an extremely high level fighter. Sherk never gets enough props but along with his world class MMA wrestling, his boxing and positional grappling was very high level. In the BJ fight you could tell that Sherk was amongst the most skilled fighters in the division but BJ was just that damn good.

see av

the Sherk win was pretty impressive too. you know you are a bad ass when you leave someone wrecked against the cage to end a round and then YOU decide the fight is over and everyone else just kind of agrees LOLOL

Gomi was an awesome performance. Anyone that hasn't seen it, should watch it. Showed a different style that BJ generally fought in later in his career. He was more aggressive and mixed in his takedowns very well.

I liked Pulver 2 also. That was the true return of the Prodigy and started off his most dominant point of his career. And given the lead up, the history and the bad blood, it was just a great fight and event. It's also crazy that it was almost 10 years ago to the day.

the first Hughes fight, fighting above his weight class plus beating a truly dominant champion.

The Sanchez fight was very close. All three judges had Diego ahead going into the fifth. Penn needed a stoppage and got it.
Really ? I guess I don't remember that fight very well I thought bj was kickin his ass from the start.. Diego is the only fighter who scores points when you're teeing off on him .
