Last Crusade for me just cause the dynamic between Ford and Connery is so good.
But Batman, Born on the 4th and Glory are right up there with it.

Great fucking year but if im being honest with myself. Christmas Vacation

Solid list: Do the right thing, Uncle Buck, Christmas Vacation, and kickboxer

Idk what Happened to Micheal Scott but he's made these threads allready ur fav movie from the 70s - present day . I think he covered every year allready lol

The data set could always use more data. That's how it becomes robust.

Reading through the list I thought it would be Last Crusade, but Excellent Adventure is one of my favourite movies of all time.

The number of sequels in the list(and for the next couple of years I suspect) does I think highlight that the blockbuster market was starting to run out of ideas a bit even if the films themselves were mostly good. Burton was really the only new biggish name blockbuster director who broke though post 87 who comes to mind for me. You could argue The Killer was actually the most significant action film released in 89 in terms of what happened over the next decade.

A good year for warped arty sex drama though with Cook, Thief His Wife and Her Lover and Sex Lies and Videotape, James Spader as perennial pervert is born.
