Showed they weren't in the same league and that GSP just had an off night / got caught in the first.

This is 100% my choice. It was the first UFC fight in Canada and my first live UFC. Shogun vs Machida II would be my second and the fact that I got to see both of these live in Montreal was a bonus. Third would be Rampage vs Wand III. Went to that live in Vegas. Was my first time in Vegas.

I was happy for dustin when he beat conor.

When conor beat him the first time it was embarrassing, Conor was talking shit, all up in his face and then conor fucking erases him with ease, an absolute startching. to this day IMO, this was conors best ever performance.

Lol what? Their first fight was conors least impressive of his early finishes. It was pretty even until the finish. Conor had had way more impressive performances

Cerrone over Varner was very satisfying at the time if you paid attention to all the back and forth talking they did after Varner won that technical decision.

I would agree with CC. But Shogun wasn't beaten, but robbed.
When he won he was putting it right. CC got STARTCHED. That was super sweet revenge. For me at least. BOTH great moments tho.

I liked when Shogun beat Griffin. BIG fan of Shogun and that loss burned at the time. Shame he couldn't have beaten Hendo too. He was doing so well in that 2nd fight.

Poirier getting consecutive wins on Conor was really gratifying.

I was gonna say something else but you changed my mind the amount of disrespect Dustin got from fans and media for years there was the narrative conor was a great lw because he beat Dustin (an actual great lw) at fw 100 years ago. And still before the 2nd fight when he should have been a clear favorite people weren't giving Dustin a good chance.
Then those people still said the 3rd fight was only a 50/50 toss up.

Was my original first choice that year+ matt Serra held the belt hostage and listening to gsp haters pretend he had anything for a focused gsp in the rematch. The total dominance too made it sweeter then if it was just a win, sure there's still hates who will post that gif and say 1-1 but even they know how stupid they sound.

*does Moreno figgy 2 count? Technically 1 was a draw but the perception that Figgy won but "unfortunately cheated"
The 2nd fight showed Figgy needed to cheat to slow down Moreno and make it competitive.

Aside from fights that have already been mentioned on the first page or so, I think I gotta go Dominic Cruz VS Faber -- I really feel that Cruz was not prepared for Faber when they 1st fought as Cruz was just a kid with very little training. That loss was used heavily against him in the marketing of the fight, and then Cruz and Faber put on a hell of a fight for 5 rounds. Cruz won the fight pretty comfortably but Faber had some nice moments.
