He is borderline unwatchable in the F&F movies---over the top try hard. When he screams "This is Brazil" in front of the Rock where he is obviously standing on a crate, I got heartburn immediately from the cringe. Did like him in Pitch Black
2 crates maybe 2.5
but thats why i love the movies they just say fuck it and throw it all together and use massive budgets to seal up the leaks
i was laughing all the way through 9 with how they were trying to retcon him into a big ass gy and all the flash backs were him towering over the younger cena character

Fast and Furious are trash but I'm sad they are doing a finale.

I kind of wanted to see how long they can put their franchise... something like Fast and Furious 29: Vin Diesel travels through time and re discovers America in a Ford Mustang

At this point they should just keep going. Fast & Furious 2050: When Aliens drag race on Saturns rings.

My parents went and saw Fast8 in theatres having not seen any of the first seven. They said it was the worst movie they had ever seen.

great points all around.

haha could you imagine having someone who knew very little about the franchise watch the first movie and then watch 9. I don’t know if the brain could comprehend the discrepancy.
That is essentially my experience. Although it wasn’t 9 for me. It was the one where they drive a care across rooftops and jump from one sky scraper to another in Dubai. That really was some looney toons shit.

Johnson should do it. Also his movies have been garbage lately.

5, 7, 1, and the drift one were decent. Rest were just meh at best.

I feel like they need one more big, stupid, muscled-up fuckin idiot for the team. Dave Batista will do.

hey at least Bautista has been in some respectable films like Blade Runner, dune, GOTG and spectre. Seems like he knows his role as a side character.

Don't give them any ideas. Because they will run with it

They've been to space, I wonder what's next... Time travel, perhaps?

For sure at some point they will pass the torch to younger actors and try to still make money off the franchise.

Rock is too cringey, as are Dom, Letty, Tyrese.

I love how people still don’t “get” these movies at this point in time.

being completely over the top is the entire reason they’re made. They are supposed to be ridiculous.

Anyone else feel this is bullshit? Like its just made to gin up anticipation for Dwayne Johnson's eventual return for the final movie?

These things are always held behind closed doors - big money offers and negotiation.

For Vin Diesel to make such a public plea, over social media, to Johnson? After all the supposed bad blood? To have his face spat on publicly?

And Johnson laughing it off like there's no chance, when obviously the #1 factor in deciding what roles to take is money. Period. So he wouldn't be in the movie even for a HUGE paycheck? (Like $20+ million?)

Vin has never been known as the smartest guy in Hollywood, but I highly doubt he would be so stupid to make mistake like this... and that's why I don't think it was a mistake, this is about marketing and buzz.

I bet a deal has already been made, behind closed doors, for Johnson to return for the 'final' movie.

The only way to know for sure, unless its announced prior, is to see the 'final' movie and there is, or isn't, Dwayne Johnson in it.

But based on OP I'm calling it now that he's going to be in the movie.
I could buy that. I could also buy it just as a general goodwill PR move on Vin’s part. He now looks like the one who put out the invite and is trying to make things happen “for the fans”. Now he can say well I tried and if the Rock isn’t in the movie the blame gets squarely put on him

Well there's good ridiculous and bad ridiculous.

5 and 7 were the best kind of ridiculous. Super fun, super entertaining, and actually pretty good movies in their own right.

6, 8, and 9 were the most abjectly atrocious kind of ridiculous. Like so utterly, unbelievably, insultingly stupid that it caused actual physical pain. Each one worse than the last. And completely devoid of any fun. They just werent any good at all, IMO.

I'm fine with ridiculousness, as long as it's done well, has a good story, and entertains me.

He also re discovers family while re discovering america he fills he mustang up at the temple of NOS to travel to present day L.A to eat mia's shitty tuna sandwich.

there is no way this is the last installment. they should go back to space, but do a crossover where they run into Jason Vorhees in space and jason drives a suped up nissan
