Why don't they just send him down, and have someone on the roster worth a damn? Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to figure out.

They already do.... Junior Lake.

LOL Lake's "Range Factor" is 3.81, Kalish's is 1.83.... Looking at all those stupid sabermetrics Lake completely outclasses him.

Doesn't take some goon in an office to tell me that though.

Well i meant him not being on the Major league roster. Especially having someone like Soler in the minors.

Soler isn't ready and should be getting everyday ABs in the minors. Brett Jackson could have made it over him. About the same bat and a much better outfielder.

Shit Darnell McDonald is better.

I figured Lake was doomed after his 0/3 day yesterday.

Finally plays him against a righty and its the nastiest guy they faced all season.

It's getting frustrating. I'd be tempted to trade Lake away to anyone who would offer, but I wouldn't get shit.

If someone gets hurt you can put them on the DL and use the roster spot to sign another player.

I see

My roster is full - 25 players total, 23 active, 2 on DL

We'll call one of the guys on the DL, "DL Guy"

I'm trying to add a player, and it seems as though I can drop DL Guy in order to add him (DL Guy is on the list of people I can drop)

If DL Guy wasn't there, would I be able to freely add this player? Or would I stlll have to drop someone?

You would still have to drop someone.

But I can still drop DL Guy in order to add someone?

....if I added someone, and he got hurt, could I put him on the DL and add someone else?

Yes, and yes.

You have to drop an active players with a full roster to add a player.

So what exactly does the DL spot do for you?

But I can still drop DL Guy in order to add someone?

....if I added someone, and he got hurt, could I put him on the DL and add someone else?

Technically, if you wanted to drop the DL guy to add someone you would have to drop 2 people. 23 man roster with 2 DL spots. If DL spot isn't used than you still only get 23 active players.

Word, so with the second scenario, the end I'd end up with one more player on my roster than I do now

Drop DL Guy, add someone (25 total players)
That someone gets hurt, put him on DL and add someone else (26 total players)

?

Ahhhhhhhhh gotcha

No, you are only allowed 23 active players. You have 2 DL spots for DL eligible players. If you have no one injured than you only have 23 players on your roster.

If you try to replace an injured player from the DL it will make you drop 2 players.
