Movies FANTASTIC FOUR [2015] Thread v.2 (Dragonlord's Review)

not blown away with the trailer, but I actually hope this movie is better than what the trailer shows. I actually like the FF4. even tho I havent kept up with the books besides the classics. I liked chronicle so.. yeah. crossing my fingers.

The guy who played Mr. Fantastic in those flicks was the killer for me. He was all over the grid emotionally. He was just terrible and it's obvious he's terrible as he hasn't been seen since those movies

Apart from Alba, a lot of the cast were getting their 1st big break in movies. Since the film, they have all been demoted back to TV.

FANTASTIC FOUR Trailer Sets Fox Record with 42 Million Views

Last week, 20th Century Fox released the first look at their upcoming superhero tentpole Fantastic Four, the newest onscreen incarnation of the First Family of Marvel Comics. The response online was immediate: Within a few days, the trailer had been viewed 42 million times, breaking a record for a Fox trailer. The last trailer to perform so well online was for last year

Unsurprising to see FF referred to as a franchise. Everything's designed as a fucking franchise these days.

David Cronenberg on Influencing FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

David-Cronenberg-Director-021315-Dragonlord.jpg

A few weeks ago, director Josh Trank told Collider that he was a huge David Cronenberg fan and those films inspired his take on Fantastic Four. Trank especially wanted to bring Cronenberg's style to the transformation scene to convey "something horrible happening to your body and it transforming out of control." In a new interview, Cronenberg gives his thoughts on the fact that his work influenced the new Fantastic Four movie.

"It’s fine," Cronenberg told Collider. "Once you’ve contributed your voice to the cinematic conversation, it’s out there and it’s up for grabs, absolutely. So I don’t complain. In fact, I take it as a compliment." He later added, "When you come up with something original and it really strikes a chord in people, it’s going to imitated, it’s going to be appropriated, and it’s actually kind of nice when someone just flat out admits it. That’s actually pretty good. Not everybody does."

"As far back as Alien, for example, which totally ripped off things from my movie Shivers - Shivers featured a parasite that lives in your body, bursts out of your chests, jumps onto your face, and jumps down your mouth, and suddenly you see this in a studio film, which was hugely successful, Alien," Cronenberg said. "The writer of the script, Dan O’Bannon, had seen Shivers, we know that he had seen my movie and, shall we say, appropriated it. So this is not new stuff for me."

Looks fantastic! Uh.. I meant cantastic.

Those are their costumes!?

The casting for this is just so awful. We deserve an FF movie that doesn't suck and I hope this is it, but I doubt it.

Wow, awful isn't even the word to describe that abortion of a cast and trailer.

There was apparently an entire month of reshoots, so it could well be a complete mess.

Apparently there is an alternate Trailer playing in front of Kingsman with some different footage. This cam shows Human Torch and Sue flying at the end:

FANTASTIC FOUR 2 Pushed Back a Week to Avoid STAR WARS

Fantastic-Four-Screengrab-031215-Dragonlord.jpg

20th Century Fox has made a slight release date change for Fantastic Four 2, and in and of itself it seems like a fairly benign move, but there’s a reason for the shift—Star Wars. Earlier today, Disney announced that the Rian Johnson-directed Star Wars: Episode VIII will arrive in theaters on May 26, 2017.

Fox had originally scheduled the Fantastic Four sequel to drop on June 2nd, but the film will now open in theaters on June 9, 2017 according to The Projection List. Given that Star Wars is now opening the week before June 2nd, it’s probably smart to get a bit of breathing room between the two franchises.

Currently Fantastic Four 2 has that June 9th date all to itself, but it will be followed on June 16th by Pixar’s sure-to-be-huge Toy Story 4, so it’s not escaping box office competition altogether. The June 9, 2017 date is more of a placeholder for Fantastic Four 2 at this point in time. The first film hasn’t opened in theaters yet, so Fox doesn’t know how this new iteration of the franchise will be received.

How great would it be if Thing pulled an Ultimatum and...

Squashed Doom's head with his fingers in the climax.

Can we just cancel this movie and send it back to marvel
