Movies FANTASTIC FOUR [2015] Thread v.2 (Dragonlord's Review)

The only time I have seen or heard people talking about this reboot was when they were bitching about it. I have nothing invested in the history or characters of the FF, hell I liked the Evans, Chicklis, Alba versions for the guilty pleasure they are. If you did't think that trailer looked good thats your hang-up. Movie might be shit, but the trailer was good.

I thought the trailor looked good.

gonna have to check this out,the trailer looks a lot darker and grittier than the original.

I'm in the trailer looks better than expected club. Not a fan at all of Miles Teller for the most part but I'm sure he had to tone it down for the role.

So here's my question:

If in today's climate of political correctness, Hollywood decided to make a Harlem Globetrotters movie or a Fat Albert (reboot) movie or a classic Grambling Football movie, would they have to throw a token white cast member in to make it racially fair?
Political Correctness is inherently anti-white, sinister and hateful.

Such a movie would not require "diversity", because so called "diversity" is about reducing, excluding and or eradicating white people, hence why non-white countries, cultures, sub-cultures, events and productions aren't required to be "diverse".

I'll watch anything with Kate Mara in it.

I'm of the few that are hopeful. I don't read comics so it doesn't kill me like it does you guys. But Jordan and Teller I like in most things I've seen them in.

We shall see but the trailer was solid.

Idk if it was mentioned in the last thread or not but apparently at 0.45 the IP address on screen leads to the latveria Wikipedia page.

What is Marvel's obsession with this franchise?

To clarify, Marvel licensed the Fantastic Four movie rights to 20th Century Fox way back in the 90s.

The first two Fantastic Four movies that was released were from Fox.

As for your question, if Fox doesn't make a Fantastic Four movie in 7-8 years from the last FF movie, the rights revert back to Marvel.

What is Marvel's obsession with this franchise?

The ownership of the different franchises is currently split between studios. Marvel Studios doesn't own F4, Fox does. They're using this license to retain ownership of it.

As for the property itself, it has a lot of potential. While Avengers are the saviors of the world and X-Men are the outcasts, F4 are the scientists/explorers. The difference between the teams is only vaguely implied movies-wise since they all want to adhere to the world-saving trope for the most part. But there's a lot of cool story telling and characters there, it just needs the right creativity behind it.

wtf is Lucius Fox doing working with the Fantastic Four?

Looks like the movie was filmed well, but it didn't fool me.

And, so Johnny is black...I'm cool with that....but Sue isn't w/ Reed? Das sum booshit ri der.

This trailer does nothing to increase my desire to see this movie. On the other hand, it does not make me dislike the movie anymore.

Soooo.... win for them?

I was trying to be funny with my post but I failed.

To answer your question...No

They would never cast Matt Damon as Black Panther or Falcon

but they will let this guy play Christ.

The entire main cast of Egyptians including Moses in Exodus: Gods and Kings, by Ridley Scott is played by white guys...

and we can go on and on.

"Whitewashing" or "racebending" of characters real or fictional was the norm when Hollywood was pandering to a mostly white audience. Now the audience is more diverse and the pandering is going both ways.

Nothing to see here.

It does look better than the other two films....

I thought it looked okay, may try to go to deep and be anti other F4 movies that were previously filmed, you know with the humor and wacky stuff
