Media Fans are not happy with Izzy's behavior

lol white guys live in total terror of being called the N world

You already used that 'zinger' come up with something more interesting.

Or are awards really important to you? Did you get enough participation trophies as a kid?

Yawn my sherdog account is probably older than you I'm guessing.

It's hilarious because you you picked two fighters
Dan hooker who only has fans because he's white and izzy <Lmaoo> that literally have more fans who would support both fighters

But it's all about skin tone to you

Lol I'm out you're a angry little kid. Maybe work on that and stop obsessing over pigment. ;)

LETS ALL KEEP COOL MY N-WORDS

He never said he is more African. He said he'd be a more African champ. There is a big difference that you seemingly seem to miss here.

I think people are very capable of seeing how it is problematic. Not sure why you keep saying they are incapable of it. But because it's problematic doesn't mean you should yield to that problem or that that problem is based in a just cause. You can see why people think it is problematic, but still think it shouldn't be a problem. Because the people making a problem out of it are clutching onto racist sentiments.

And the reason why those people are also taking offense to Izzy, is because he indeed does make it very overtly racist, while it absolutely doesn't have to be.
And a black African born champ can claim he’s more African because his African ancestry is absolute. So you’re right there’s no problem. It’s all about perspective.

And yet Izzy has 10's of thousands of people interacting with his posts

His online engagement is one the highest in the UFC

The interest for their potential fight is already incredibly high. And it will only grow once there is an official announcement

Hate him or love him you are paying attention

Adesanya is out here playing 4D chess while y'all playing tic-tac-toe

i guess anything is ok as long as people talk about it right? give me a break, he could've talked about being a real African without dropping the n-word over and over again and try to make it about racism. you can fight for the pride of Africa and who is a true African without it being about race.

none of Adesanya's shit bothered me except when he played with his dog's dick because that shit is basically sexual assault of an animal, but what he did there was act like a classless race baiting cunt.

You're rigid, but it's derived prom the Mayweather method. People will pay out the ass to see him lose.

so it's ok to be a racist fuckwit as long as it's for money? what the fuck is this world coming to when people defend assholes because "it's ok, he's doing it to sell tickets" would you be saying the same thing if DDP called Adesanya a :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: for wearing pearl necklaces, painting his fingernails, and hump Costa?

DDP initially said what he did because he knew it was edgy enough to get a response but not blatant enough where he didn’t have a get out.

The use of the word African, to most people, has a broad meaning. It can mean someone from the continent or it can mean someone with African heritage. It is also often used to describe black Africans because white people transplanted themselves to Africa. They are not native inhabitants.

DDP knew this and knew it was edgy enough to get Adesanya to bite.

What he didn’t know or realize was how fragile a human being Adesanya is and grossly underestimated Izzy’s overreaction.

To those saying, “Well it’s true! DDP lives in Africa therefore he’s African!” are ignoring hugely important swaths of history and context.

Anybody can claim anything.

Indeed, it's all about perspective and pepple making a problem about Dricus' statement, especially after him clarifying, do so from a racist perspective.

I struggle with this line of thinking. If a * insert any race skin colour tone etc. Says they are Australian. It would be highly offensive to say no. 6 generation ago your ancestors lived in India... your Indian not Australian.

That's fucked up. And would rightfully be termed as racist/ xenophobic

I disagree. I don’t have to be racist to think what he said is dumb.

You don't have to be fully racist, however you want to interpret that, but at the very least there is a willingness to surrender to a racist train of thought.

Acknowledging racism in people’s ignorant actions and statements in context, is not the same thing as “surrendering to a racist train of thought”.

They’re not mutually exclusive.

DDP is African from a geographical point of view. He is not African by an ethnicity point of view. The term “African” is more closely linked to ethnicity than “Australian”.

The heat is real. That's all you can really say about this. All this focusing on racism as a fan is pointless.

OK. Black man in England for 7 generations .

You're not English your African.
Etc etc. Etc.

Your not French your African

You're not Indian. Your Chinese

To me separating people by arbitrary things like ancestors is fucked up.

If someone is born into that country hell even 2nd generation it's fucked up to me to say. No You're not " insert country " because despite generations of your family being here you are still different and not from here. Yeah hard pass from me.

I'm honestly glad I don't think that way. I have no difference for people born in Australia. The thought of operating that way just seems inherently fucked up to me.

No, it's not. But limiting yourself or thinking someone should have limited themselves, because otherwise he/she would upset people with racist views on the matter, is.

So he was french, then german, then dutch, then declined to be french again, then african.
Man that family has trouble deciding ^^ na being a Hugenotte back then was a problem.

No one is saying he is not African from a geographical standpoint. Of course DDP is African from a geographical standpoint. He was born there. But the term African has more subtle meanings to it which include race. He is not African from a racial standpoint. His ancestors settled in Africa from Europe.

When DDP made that comment, I believe he did it intentionally knowing it would get a rise out of Izzy. What he didn’t expect was for Izzy to take it to heart as much as he did.

I’m Canadian but my parents were born elsewhere. “Canadian” doesn’t have any racial connotations.

So I'm confused, is he of European aristocracy or is a he humble, common working white man oppressed by his black peers?

<{walkerwhut}>

@CallMeCasual should write Joker stories for DC comics, because he needs to pick an origin story and stick to it.
Well there’s plenty of people that are both, just look at black Americans, they built the pyramids and ruled as pharaohs until all evidence they did was wiped away and now they live in Detroit

He can say whatever the hell he wants. Free speech doesn’t make you free from criticism or accountability.
