Fake Windy Gloves?

But they do look like a quality glove in the eBay ad.

Well mine literally look identical, its mostly the emblem on the strap that is making me worried. I've also seen Windys that have the "Made In Thailand" circle on the strap, this one doesn't.

It also just doesn't feel very comfortable, nor well padded. I have some worn out Everlast Protex gloves and I don't feel the bag through them as much as I do with these new Windys.

Well either way thanks for taking the time to look, I've contacted Windy directly to see if they can give me a definite answer.

Hopefully they're legit. That's a seller with a good reputation that I've been considering ordering some King/Top King stuff from. He's been selling Muay Thai brands for quite a while. I hope your gloves are the real deal.

Once I hear back from Windy I'll let you know. It could just be I'm very used to my old gloves and not used to Windy, which I've been told are very tough and take more time than most gloves to break in.

Here is what the Windy spokesperson said

A few things. The model of the glove BGVU is a model of their traditional thai glove, the material is skintex which is a synthetic leather. It is wierd that it does not have the handcrafted in Thailand stamp on the wrist. The material looks a bit more loose than Windy's standards usually allow... (in some of the pictures) This guy does have the Clima Cool glove on there and a few other items that make me believe that he is selling Windy and not just a boot leg. I think that the guy that has this web shop is a guy named Bob that buys the product through Holland and then resells it here in the USA. I was aware of a guy doing this in Florida. I can't stop him from doing it because he is getting the product from an authorized retailer. I do think that this is real Windy product. I would be more convinced if it had the Thailand mark on it as well. I hope this helps. Carl Kern

If it is a windy it was probly a "second", a glove with defects, which would be why they didn't stamp it. But with his response something seems fishy.

Ya honestly I've never worn any Windy Gloves but after reading numerous reviews these gloves fell extremely short of my expectations. For one the craftsmanship is lacking, parts of the glove aren't stitched correctly.

The gloves also do a terrible job at protecting your hands, its a must to wear hand wraps with em. I'm actually selling them right now on ebay, gonna try a pair of 100% leather twins instead.

Just wanna say, I got my all leather twins today in replacement of those crappy Windy's. What a world of difference!, these gloves are amazing, by far the best I've ever owned. Padding is perfect, comfortable, they feel durable as hell, and I'm sure they will be. The craftsmanship is extremely noticeable, no loose stitching, perfect symmetry, just all around phenomenal gloves.

Damn if anyone else is debating between Windy's or Twins, I don't see a choice, there is only Twin's in my mind.

Those gloves looked fine to me. Synthetic, but fine. I can't stand Twins though. Maybe I don't like them because I got them from Title as opposed to getting them from Thailand, but I don't like them nonetheless.

Well for one the Windy's weren't as well padded. They lacked the side padding that I assume is there for blocking kicks. The Windy's also did not fit as tightly as the Twins, and they also showed signs of poor craftsmanship with loose stitching.

As far as looks I'd agree the Windy's look fine but once I put them on I could tell they were of poor quality. I've worn quite a few pairs of gloves, Everlast, Title, Ringside, Twins, and Windy's. Out of them all, the Windy's were by far the worst I've ever worn, my hands would hurt with every punch thrown at a heavy bag.

And yes I would be more skeptical of gloves not coming from Thailand, which also could be the reason why I didn't like my Windy's. They could have very well been boot-leg gloves or just lower quality gloves that weren't quality assured by Windy although made by them and ended up in the hands of a legitimate retailer.

I appreciate you making this thread. I've been thinking of purchasing some gloves soon, and wouldn't you know it, I came across that ebay ad myself. I'm glad I didn't follow through with my purchase.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your new (Twins) Gloves from?

Thank you

They're all made in Thailand -- the only difference is the website printed on the cuff label (titlemma.com vs twinsspecial.com). If that's what's causing you to hate the gloves, cut the labels off and enjoy.
