Opinion FAFO vs. police brutality and the 8th amendment

We are hypocrits.

We paint with a broad brush, as we acknowledge that there only a small percentage of violent illegals we also must recognize only a small percentage of bad cops out there.

I think the ICE shootings would be very different if the administration didn't instantly declare the victims to be domestic terrorists.

Like most things, its not the fuck up that screws you, its the cover up.

Reading the back and forth about the ICE shootings, protesters getting their shit kicked in, chemical munitions being deployed at protests, cops beating/choking/shooting people it occurs to me that it’s being debated as a toggle switch, not a dimmer switch.

One side paints the other as believing there should be 0 consequences for illegal actions: selling loosies, standing in the road, obstructing LEO, etc when that isn’t the case. What we want is a reasonable response and use of force in these situations. Walking over and shoving a woman down to the ground after she has moved out of the road is a clear violation of UOF protocols. Cops going ham on a guy and then kicking his ass more when he’s trying to get into a defensive posture while calling it “resisting arrest” is fucked up. There can’t be a failure to comply when someone isn’t given the opportunity to comply first.

The idea of a reasonable escalation of force has completely gone out the window because of partisan football. It’s crazy the amount of unconstitutional, immoral bullshit people are willing to handwave away when it’s being perpetrated against people from the other side of the aisle.

Get your shit together sherdog. Abusive cops and Feds are the enemies of all, not just the right or the left. We can cheerlead the “other side” getting busted for criminal acts while still holding the authorities involved to a reasonable expectation of force in these cases.

The framing from the right is usually this dishonest, partisan brain rot.
Left says "Wow. Another mass shooting. We need some common sense restrictions and checks"
Right says "You are against the 2nd amendment and want to ban all guns"

Left: "We want to provide a path of citizenship for immigrants. We don't want to break up families that have lived here for 20+ years.
Right: "You want open borders, you want to protect murderers and rapists, you want to replace white people, you want to steal future elections by using these brown voters"

It's always some extreme bullshit. There's plenty of room to have some substantive and legitimate disagreements on how to tackle these issues, but when the starting point is some version of "You want to sacrifice your women and children to PDFs and gangbangers", then that's not possible.

I'd say the issue isn't just about partisanship though. You see some of the same people make similar comments in regards to crime in general.
The FAFO mentality can not exist in the same world as law and order. It's a contradictory mindset that I see a lot of these rightwingers have. It's just LARPing some Wild West Cowboy life.

They're only worried about whether or not the 'bad guy' gets punished, but not how he gets punished. As if we don't have laws and a court system, and as if there aren't negative consequences to letting random law enforcement officers play the role of Judge Dredd.
The police aren't your personal hired bullies or hitmen to beat up or kill people that you dislike. That's not good for society, and you shouldn't have that kind of trust in anyone, especially not someone that is supposed to be enforcing the law.

The tv show Yellowstone is a perfect embodiment of the fantasy world these people would love to inhabit

Imagine waking up everyday to go verbally and physically fuck with federal agents. Blowing a whistle, blocking roads and kicking their cars.

I fucking hate cops, but I don't fuck with them or interfere or obstruct. Also, fuck illegals and those that support them. They are a tax burden and committ crimes.

Just letting you know that you sound like a bitch here. Some people actually do go out and try to fight for what they believe in.
