FACTOID: SUBMISSION GRAPPLING IS SUPERIOR TO ANY STRIKING ART.

Combine judo/wrestling/bjj/grappling in general and it's better than all the striking arts combined. This has been demonstrated since the beginning of this sport. Maia is another proof.

Of course combining every aspect of mma is ideal, but generally submission grappling is superior to striking, in this sport and most one on one situations out in the forest or desert.

In a crowded room such as a bar, court house, wedding, etc, where you're going to get broken up/restrained, yeah, then striking is better. But that's about it.

Will vs. will, with no ref, I'd take my chances against a striker rather than grappler.

What say you?

Hey cool, did I just travel back to 1994?

Because if so, I want to buy some Apple stock.

All MMA fights start standing, so the striker always have a advantage at the first place. So a good striker with great TDD will beat the best grappler in the world, because it will be a stand-up match.

How was your first bjj class? Do a little pummeling ? Stick with it man , it's a very rewarding hobby

I dont get the point of this ... fights start standing ... and if you look at all the current Champions with exception of Miesha , all of them have very good striking

Any grappler with fast feet and knowledge of closing the distance will most likely maul any advanced grappler.

I would destroy Mayweather out in the forest if it's just me and him.

You aren't going to hit me when I'm performing a picture perfect ankle pick.

I say Stipe is the HW champ over a grappling genius.

Hahahahaha, this!

I swear I had a flashback to my white belt days, LMAO !

Reem also beat Werdum who was flopping.

And Werdum beat Cain by striking.

Holm beat Ronda.

Take a look at champs and contenders in the UFC. Maia is the best grappler in the world p4p and he ain't sniffing the belt.

Hey TS....tell that to Werdum hahaha. Give us a break dude. The individual fighter is the dominant force, not the art. Once guys in MMA started to learn how to defend and beat grappling, the great fighters nullified one particular art. JDS will knock people's heads clean off.....think about it TS.

What if the fight arena has no walls? Lets say a huge open area.

In this scenario a person could back up forever and truly pick his shots, forward pressure or "octagon control" isn't even a factor anymore...still think a submission grappler is the best style?
