IMO, Cain was in his True PRIME in 2010-2011...After that, he has been declining.

The man wasted what could've been his prime on injuries...and rematches.

Even in the first JDS fight, he was coming from surgery and looked slow as hell.....After that with his rematches, He wasted his time with Bigfoot, who was a good fighter at the time but not amazing enough to have a rematch with....The JDS fights, he looked decent but never had the speed as he had back in 2010-2011 IMO.

Now after the WERDUM Fight....Their is no doubt, Cain is 100% out of his prime...It's over guys, the man could still be on top of the HW division, maybe even be champ again since HW kind of sucks but his speed isn't there at all.

It's sad but Cain never truly showed us his true potential.

"Wasted" as if he chose his own fights. Pfft. Done with this thread already.

"You're only as good as your last fight. "

How quickly people forget.

I always love these threads that start with "FACT", and then go on to list a bunch of opinions.

lol

How can you call "FACT" on something as subjective as the concept of "prime"

Agreed, well said TS. Cain has fought 3 different opponents in 5 years!!! , Bigfoot, JDS and Werdum in 5 years, thats says it all really.

I agree that he will never be as fit, quick and tireless as he used to unless he drastically changes his training. He needs to always stay in shape all year around instead of training like a maniac 6-8 weeks before each camp and getting fat between fights. It might be a good idea to change his trainers. Age does not work in his favor.

Mandatory clip for these type of threads. Cain's body is done. The window for him to become a hispanic superstar has closed. The UFC gave him so many chances and he squandered most of them. Only thing left for his career are the endless what ifs.

That combination on Nog was fucking absurd. I remember watching it live, pulling for Cain, and feeling bad for Nog because he got demolished like that.

Nog wasn't even a corpse yet either, that's the scary part. He had only been finished once before that. Cain was an absolute animal.

Wasted his way into becoming the heavyweight champion of the world. I love you fat, greasy-fingered sherdog nothings.

No wonder pro fighters hate sherdog and the fans here. Classless and tasteless threads like this.

Yeah wth was he thinking taking on all those injuries? What total moron. Add heavy sarcastic tone when reading.

Cain is probably past his prime BECAUSE of his injuries though. It's not like he wasted his prime being injured, the injuries wasted with his body and well that's just unfortunate...

If you think Cain has already maximized his potential because he got the HW belt, then you are the real greasy-fingered Sherdog nothing who's underestimating what Cain could have achieved He could have been THE HW champion and a far bigger star. You know how rare it is for there to be a HW champion of Hispanic descent in combat sports?

And has lost to 2 of them.

Not only that this was during "The Cain Era".

He was a Great fighter no doubt, but I hate the comparisons to Fedor so give him a bit of shit every so often.
