I always see people crediting the gracies as being the best fighters before people knew about BJJ basically pre 1993. The Argument is that Rickson Gracie would sub everybody and it makes sense.


But how about before the gracies?How about before 1960/70s?

Back in the days when Kimura was subbing Helio.

In those days, Japan was the powerhouse in JUDO/Jiu-Jitsu thus they were the baddest men on the planet. They would sub wrestlers,boxers,and any other fighting art.

Literally nobody could beat them..Not Russian Wrestlers,not Sambo Fighters,not American Boxers...Absolutely Nobody
...not even Muhammad ali would've had a chance against Kimura.


Kimura is billed @ 5'5 185lbs.....This @ one time was considered the baddest man on the planet.

Not the huge guys you people drool over, more than half of which are most likely arnt even natty.


These Men right here are the real toughest men...100% Natural....and could walk into any boxing gym,NFL stadium,soccer stadium,rugby stadium, etc at the time and destroy everybody.

Now I find it amazing that Sherdoggers shit on Japanese and all Asian fighters as they are inferior when in reality, they could literally destroy all your grandparents....All of them, regardless of Size/Athleticism/Explosiveness/Cardio/etc.

Also, my grandfather fought in the Pacific Theater, and brought back quite a few souvenirs from the Japs. I remember him showing me a couple of the skulls he brought home that he kept in the attic. So, no they did not destroy my grandparents even when they had the chance.

Well, some of his kills were in hand to hand. How many notches did Kimura have on his belt? Any confirmed kills at all?

But yeah in a sanctioned fight he probably would've tossed Gramps on his head. Still reckon Gramps would've had a good shot of handing out a case of "involuntary seppuku" on Kimura if they met in combat though... You never know though I guess.

In your mind the ground aspect of fighting was invented at the same time pictures were invented. Wrestling and submissions are here since the ancient empires.
