I think Iha gets overlooked too much with good wins like Yves Edwards and Daiju Takase. His career was just too short. He could potentially neutralize Newton's JJ and get the TKO.

Carlos Newton in his prime could tap a mountain lion. I still think him vs Hughes should have been a NC. Hughes even said when he gained consciousness back he thought he lost.

Both fighters in their prime? Newton would get the submission in the first round. He would be too big and strong for Iha. Iha was at 155 and Newton 170. While I do enjoy watching Ihas fights, I think Carlos would power out of any sub attempts from Iha and eventually latch onto an arm or leg and then it would be game over.

Newton's armbar on Pele is one of my favorite armbars ever. Loved it when Pele got out of the first armbar attempt and shook his head at Carlos as if to say, 'what where you thinking?' Then minutes later Carlos has it again and just CRANKS the shit out of his arm. Don't forget about his chin either:

Prime Newton had the best finishing ability when it came to submissions. I thought he was going to pop Pat's head off with that bulldog choke!

Newton was a blast to watch even with his goofy Kame Hame Ha celebration. His fight vs Sakuraba is one of my favorite grappling fights.

Iha was legit too. I forget what fight it was, but he had a sick rolling omoplata he almost locked in.
