He arrested me and I have a court date in march.

Make sure you've got someone who ranks you who doesn't care and will give you a good reference, leave before you're let go and find work in another field. You're not gonna do any time, but you're probably done smoking pot for a year or so (drug testing), and very few jobs would reject a qualified candidate over a misdemeanor possession charge.

I wouldn't say it's the end of your life man, definitely a red flag for a while but not the end. I would just say next time keep the weed at home. I got popped for weed years ago in Los Angeles, five years later I got hired by the fire department. While I did get grilled hard during the background check, I was honest and had made my self as valuable as possible with degrees and training that they didn't kill me for the weed.

i used to be a heavy smoker, and i have essentially stopped. i will admit that there are a few times when i'll sneak in a hit when i'm out at the bars (this is in san francisco...very common).
