^&*^*&^*&^*@#$#$#$#@$!!!!! F**k!!!!

I hope your big pup is okay :'( Let us know how it's going.

Conversely, there's a local man who makes outdoor dog houses and someone asked him to build one for their Doberman. A Doberman in which is 115f every summer and we're expecting 120f this summer. Why the fuck have a beast of an animal like that if they're not welcome in your air conditioned home?

I hope all the best and good recovery for your big doberman !! it sucks badly ....prayers.

i chased a young Husky today, he was alone in the street and outside the courtyart of a vacant home. gave him foods and he ran away. tried to rescue him to place him temporarily in a shelter.

I used to have a doberman lab mix.

Great mix.

Sweet like a lab to his owners, but still enough dobie to be a great watchdog.

Anyhoo, hope your dog is ok.

Thank you to all for the sentiments. The dog is home, no broken bones or hips. Just sore and old. I won't lie, I was worried as fuck and kind of panicky. Didn't plan on waking up and potentially having to put my dog down. The family knew what anything major would have meant. Well know her time is coming, and a fall at 13 years old is a terrifying thought.

I was going to put her down at 10 years old when she needed surgery back then, but the kids paid for it. $4k+ on a 10 year old dog? Nope, not doing it. The dog ate a used tampon (not my wife's) out of the wastebasket in one of the bathrooms. I never said the dog would give Stephen Hawking a run for his money... just a dog. She couldn't pass the tampon, led to a intestinal blockage, and over $4k later, back to her normal self.

They were shocked at currently how healthy and spry she is for her age (all things considered), and her temperament and disposition.

All we can do is watch and see. Have to loop a towel between her legs to help her use the bathroom outside for now until she gets her strength back to walk on her own. But she's not yelping or doesn't really appear to be in pain or try keep you from the affected area.

This is the Doberman and her big brother about 5-ish years ago. We had to put the Shepherd/Rottweiler down at 15 years old. Couldn't do the steps anymore, and had difficulty using the bathroom. I don't have many recent of pics the Doberman but I will try to post a better one. I swear, the Doberman knows when her picture is being taken, and it doesn't like it, we have to sneak them most times. Surprised the pit bull isn't between the other two.

And to the others who have had Dobermans... were your dogs "Leaners"? My leans against me all the time, like she's too lazy to stand up or some shit. It's weird.

Standing there talking to my buddies and the dog just strolls up, leans against me to hang out with the guys. I originally got the dog for my wife... to be her dog... but I didn't know it at the time, that even in family environments Dobermans will still select one of the family members to be "theirs". She rode around with me in my service van for a shift before I brought her home, and she chose me as a result, lol. Makes sense though, I'm way more fun.

You wouldn't spend $4000 on "just a dog"? Did I read that correctly?
