If they are not taking points or even warning for eye pokes, why not "accidentally" poke your opponents eyes once or twice.. that should give you some advantage when the referee resumes the fight. See what happened with Formiga v Nguyen.. he poked Nguyens right eye and was able to capitalized on that side by striking it when Nguyen can't see clearly with the poked eye!! It's really irritating to watch guy's "accidentally" poke their opponents eye and win the match.
