Extended First Round

Tonight's card has me wondering whether extending the first round would lead to more finishes. I think past MMA organizations have used longer first rounds. Not sure how it worked out though.

Having the first round last 8 or 10 minutes would certainly give grapplers more time to work and probably cause less fighters to be saved by the bell after being stunned by strikes.

Seems there would be huge problems involved too. If the fight continued to the 2nd the fighters would be severely gassed, and it would further complicate judging.

I would prefer all rounds be 6 minutes.

I think 3-5 equal rounds is fairer. Equal rounds gives everyone a fair shot.
