Movies Excalibur vs Conan The Barbarian

Both movies were standouts during the early 80s.

Excalibur:

Conan The Barbarian


Both had dynamite soundtracks, whigs being split, great lore and lamendation of the womens.


Myself I give the overall to Excalibur. Its a richer legend, a sleeker look and deeper depth of characters.


Its close. Gonad's pretty close and Milius is the man.

Both are awesome and I watched them both around the same time when I was still a kid in the 2000's. Excaibur has a few weird sex scenes so I guess I'll go with Conan but it's close IMO. Lots of bloody sword fights in both movies.

Although Conan The Barbarian is a favorite, I believe that, academically speaking, Excalibur is the better movie.

I love both, but I saw Excalibur as a kid, so it has the wonder factor that Conan doesn't.

Plus I have always been an Arthurian legend mark since like 3rd grade.

I haven't seen Excalibur in years and years. Voting Conan because I watch it yearly

Excalibur is the better film, but I'd rather watch Conan.

I found Excalibur quite lame and corny. Conan is a great and underrated movie. It's far more than a basic sword and sorcery tale. The last battle alone is so epic and powerful on so many levels, and it has one of the greatest scores of all time.
