I constantly read these posts talking about how much mma has evolved.

I really just dont see it above 155 lbs.

Sure, 125, 135, and 145 have gotten better. But those divisions literally didnt exist until recently.

Im talking the divisions with history

Do you think,

Khabib beats prime Penn
Woodley beats prime GSP
Whittaker beats Silva
DC beats prime Wand
Dc beats prime Fedor

Answer all. I think we will get about a 50 50 in all divisions and a conclusion that not much evolution has happened at all

Khabib crushes Penn
GSP vs Woodley is I close I think GSP wins a decision.
I think Whittaker.
DC 10-8s wand every round to an ez decision
DC KOs Fedor in round 2.

I mean your taking the current champ vs the longtime, greatest fighter in each division and if we don't feel the current champ is better the sport hasn't evolved? What about the 20 other champs that existed in each game weight class?

I don't think the sport has evolved much at all.

There's much better training and nutrition but I don't see today's fighters having some massive advantage over fighters from a decade ago. Once everyone started training all arts it's diminishing returns.

overall there is alot more good well rounded fighters now then there was ones back in the day. GSP and Anderrson are arguably 2 of the best fighters ever no matter what era they are in especially GSP with his grappling skills. Wanderlei, BJ, and Fedor all lost to fighters in their era that they was suppose to beat. The sport has evolved since the early - mid '00 if you don't think so watch some Pride & UFC events from back then.

I havent seen you around until recently (maybe you changed your user name). But its nice to finally agree on something

I've never changed my username and I spam the heavies like there's no tomorrow.

However since I'm manic depressive once in awhile I become depressed and suicidal and go offline for months and just jerk off non stop until I either find the motivation to spam some more or I drain my sperm and die.

I think the “evolution” of the sport is way overstated. These martial arts have been around for thousands of years.

There have been some rule changes that affect the game.
The money is there to allow fighters to train full time.

The "well rounded" thing has been around for 15+ years now.

Most different thing now is guys aren't over training as much and killing themselves in stand-up sparring. They still go full throttle, just not Miletich/Blackhouse/AKA/Quest full contact every day. Styles on the fringes will keep popping up, techniques coming in and leaving.

Maybe Machida karate is next.

I would agree, except GSP jabs Woodley at will.
