Even Miranda Maverick is sh*t talking Maycee

Why do you think that is crazy?

She’s already pulled out of fighting Blanchfield once before, and she pulled out of the Namajunas fight, citing medical issues.

Seems to be a trend that if everything isn’t perfect for her when she fights a decent opponent, she pulls out.

The way she talks about her medical issues every time, she’s so chronically ill that she should just consider retirement.

Speaking from experience, trying to make weight last minute is really taxing on your muscles and organs, then rehydrating improperly can really fuck you up. If she took in too much water and not enough sugar/potassium/sodium when she rehydrated, then tried to warm up the following evening without doing that as well, she could have had serious muscle spasms/cramps that could feel “seizure”-esque.

No seizure, bad rehydration, bad refees
Seizure, possibly too much water

Either way, i hope she’s alright but the team around her seem like absolute idiots and she’s not as smart or professional as she thinks she is
Great points. All of these I have experienced when I use to cut weight from wrestling. When I started wrestling up in weight was the best thing I have ever did.

Also speaking from experience, I concur.

I highly doubt she panic-attacked or freaked out. Rather, like you say, when you're really depleted from a hard cut. . . your body is in shambles, in a fragile balance, and not rehydrating properly/adequately can lead to body-wide spasms, seizures, fainting, and several blends of in-between.

It would make sense that it happens after her warm-up too.

You don’t rehydrate properly, probably take it easy all day, then go warm-up, sweat and lose what little electrolytes you have.

I looked up the people around her out of curiosity, and they look like a bunch of amateurs. Like, you CANNOT let this happen to a fighter on your team. I think she’s ridiculous, but i put most of the blame on her team. When my guys are cutting i’ll always bring extra stuff in my bag to make sure they’re good after. Some of these dudes don’t even get a fucking gatorade

Still waiting on confirmation Macy had a seizure. Seems like we should have heard something by now. If I had to bet, she had a panic attack and couldn't make the walk.
Why would she have a panic attack? She's been in the UFC for 6 years and 11 fights, and it's not like Erin Blanchfield is some intimidating KO machine, she hasn't even knocked anybody down and mostly goes to decision. Not sure why they would take Mayce Barber to the hospital on a stretcher over a panic attack.

Doesn't matter how long she's been in the UFC or how many fights she's had lol.

Breese had 8 fights over 6 years in the UFC and he still had a panic attack and couldn't fight also.

I saw a horse rider who had been riding since they could walk and had like 10+ years exp suddenly have a panic attack when faced with something that they'd done probably hundreds of times before with no issue. It wasn't even something they would have found even remotely difficult. I had like less than a year's exp, and wasn't anywhere near the rider they were, and I dealt with it no worries, yet it completely undone them out of the blue.

100% they would take Barber right to the hospital over a panic attack lol. Like, that would standard procedure with the medical staff on hand for those events. Probably liable as fuck if they didn't.

Cause it is...as bad as they are she passed every medical leading up to walking out, rumours say she was ready to and walked back to the locker room...she didnt had any actual illness.

The medical exams that let one eyed bisping fight? Or the ones that merab fooled by showing the same leg twice instead of showing each leg?

He didn't have 8 fights at the time, and the guy has a history of anxiety disorders and pulled out the day of like 3 or 4 times. And no, they do not wheel you out on a stretcher for a panic attack and keep you overnight.

If you're claiming some conspiracy that her team, her opponent, the medical staff, the hospital and Hunter Campbell were all in on, you're going to need more evidence than someone riding a horse having a panic attack years ago.

Did you think I guessed that Breese had 8 UFC fights or something? His record literally shows 8 fights in the UFC before the big pullout against Arroyo that he got released after.

I'm not claiming any conspiracy. Not actually sure what conspiracy you're even referring to there or how the horse rider example somehow supports it.

I brought up the horse rider because you were implying that lots of experience and a lack of threat means someone isn't going to have a panic attack, which is completely wrong lol. Plenty of things other than what's right in front of you can cause panic attacks.

And yes, if you're not well to the point that you have any sort of seizure, they are absolutely immobilizing you in a stretcher and taking you to the hospital for observation at the very least. That sort of thing is standard procedure unless the medical staff got their training off the back of a cereal box. The only way they're just treating with something like that on-site is if someone has a history of epilepsy.

Neither the UFC or the medical staff would fuck around with something like this. The liability they'd be up for if they didn't take all necessary precautions would be insane. It isn't worth it at all to them.

Not sure what the video you linked is supposed to show. Is it because Barber looks fine there? You do realize people can have a seizure or panic attack and be completely back to normal within minutes, right?

Because odds are against it happening only then, unless she has a history of seizures.
except that they're saying she had the mother of all weight cuts and looked like skeletor at the weigh-ins. without this it's hard to believe, but with it... i'd give her the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly. The only "panic attack" she could have had would have been nerves triggering her. . . .brutal dehydration and weight-cut issues. Pros always/still have nerves, pretty much every fight (at least at the highest level). There's always so much on the line. But no, she didn't get scared and become a chicken. LOL, like you say she's a friggin pro, in the UFC for over half a decade, and overwhelmingly beats her opponents.

Except she was in a perfect state of mind and body to have either a seizure or panic attack, its why people think weight cutting should be banned. I bet the odds of it happening then were high, just like they were high the other times she cut. BTW, I have no idea what happened I am just saying the odds are for sure were not against it happening at that point in time given the circumstances.
