Mcgregor brings hype to the UFC and makes fighter's around him more popular. He is also a great showman and all of his fights are exciting.. even when he loses. I'm not sure why people think his fans will abandon him if he loses. The fight was exciting and he and Diaz put on a great show. Rooting for mcgregor to bounce back from this and for Diaz to fight RDA for the belt

Hype is no good if u can't back it up. . I give him credit for fighting big guys but his hype was premature and talk was over the top.

The sport of MMA is ruined by fighters who are terrified of losing, mostly because of the public internet condemnation that follows from the "fans". So fighters don't take risks to avoid the mockery and public shaming.

Then we have people like McGregor and Diaz who risk everything just to make good fights happen. Diaz had a lot less to lose than McGregor in this fight ofcourse, but still. Huge respect to both fighters.

If only MMA fans were a little less socially toxic we would be seeing a lot more amazing fights. Fuck the haters.

McGregors popularity has been based solely on his undefeatable aura and people believing what he was saying. That is gone now as his skill level has been completed humbled in everyone's eyes as someone who probably can't beat anyone above FW and will get beaten by Frankie and possibly Aldo. His numbers are gone so now he has a big problem. He gets paid more than he's worth. Don't be surprised if he gets cut in the next couple years.
